The Arizona Cardinals have placed tight end Rob Housler on injured reserve and promoted wide receiver Kerry Taylor to the active roster.

Housler is the team's third-leading receiver with 45 catches for 417 yards and a touchdown. He injured his shoulder in Sunday's 28-13 loss to the Chicago Bears.

Taylor, who grew up in nearby Chandler, Ariz., and played for Arizona State, began the season on New England's practice squad and joined the Arizona practice squad on Sept. 24.

In addition, the team signed defensive end Everrette Thompson to the practice squad.
