Arizona Cardinals: No mirage, Dysert waived
The Arizona Cardinals made a couple more roster moves on Monday
The Arizona Cardinals wasted no time getting back to business on Monday, almost four days since their 33-21 victory over the San Francisco 49ers. The good news is it appears starting quarterback Carson Palmer is getting ready to return.
That meant bad news for third-string quarterback Zac Dysert on Monday. A week after being elevated from the practice squad, Dysert was kicked off the 53-man roster. Replacing him was tackle Martin Wallace.
Both moves were necessary. Palmer is ready to be cleared off of concussion protocol. Head coach Bruce Arians said on Monday that Palmer should be cleared on Tuesday. Same goes for linebacker Kevin Minter.
The signing of Wallace was necessary because the Cardinals had to place tackle Evan Mathis on injured reserve a couple of days ago. Also guard Mike Iupati could miss up to a month with an injured ankle.

As for Dysert, he could still be re-signed to the practice squad. That is a move I would expect should no team claim him off waivers. The Cardinals need a quarterback on the practice squad should something happen to Palmer or backup Drew Stanton the rest of the season.
I wouldn’t expect any other major moves this week since the Cardinals know the extent of injuries already for a game that was four days ago. They next face the New York Jets on Monday Night Football next Monday at University of Phoenix Stadium.
Backup offensive linemen Earl Watford and John Wetzel both played well in relief on Thursday night. Now they are thrust into starting spots for the time being. It is a good chance that the offensive line will continue to be a makshift operation for the rest of the season.
At 2-3 the Cardinals sit in third place in the NFC West after week five. The Cardinals can ill-afford to sit back and wait for things to happen. After the Jets, huge games are comping up against the Seattle Seahawks and Carolina Panthers.
