Andrew Luck Named AFC Offensive Player of the Week
The NFL announced that Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week following his stellar performance on primetime against the New York Jets during Monday Night football.
Luck completed 22 of 28 throws (78.6%) for 278 passing yards, 4 touchdown passes, 0 interceptions, and a sparkling passer rating of 147.6–which was a career high.
That was with only playing 1 snap in the 4th quarter too.

It’s now Luck’s fourth time earning such honors, as the only Colts in franchise history with more are former greats Peyton Manning (21) and Edgerrin James (6).
Of course, prolific performance is nothing new for Luck, who’s been arguably playing at an MVP caliber level all season–despite offensive line problems, wide receiver drops, and a defense that ranks among the bottom of the league.
Right now, he’s Pro Football Focus’ 2nd best rated quarterback overall so far this season behind the New England Patriots Tom Brady.
Quite frankly, Luck has been one of the few constants on the Colts that has kept their playoff hopes alive at 6-6 with a chance to take control of the AFC South this Sunday against the Houston Texans.
It’s obviously a well deserved honor for Luck, who had one of the best passing performances of his still young career. It probably won’t be the last time Luck earns such recognition either, as this should be just one more in-line of what figures to be many more to come with the Colts.
