4 reasons the Green Bay Packers need to keep coach Mike McCarthy

Packers fans have gotten used to consistent success since Brett Favre arrived in Green Bay in the early 1990s and Aaron Rodgers later replaced him.

So on the rare occasion when things go south – as they have this season in the team’s 4-4 start – it’s not likely the team’s start quarterback is going to be the one asked to leave town. The coach, however, is another matter – as Mike McCarthy’s seat is getting seriously warm despite the fact he’s had just one losing season since taking over in 2006.

That stat (and a few others) are precisely the reasons the Packers need to stick with McCarthy, according to former NFL coach Eric Mangini, who joined FS1’s The Herd with Colin Cowherd Tuesday.
