2017 NFL Combine, Day 1 Tracker: Running Backs, Offensive Linemen Results

Tracking the testing results from the running backs, offensive linemen and specialists at Day 1 of the 2017 NFL Combine on Friday, March 3

Though the 330 invited NFL Draft prospects have been in Indianapolis, IN for several days interviewing with teams and the media at the 2017 NFL Combine, Friday is considered Day 1. That's because that's when the athletic testing truly begins and we get to see what these players have to offer as far as their strength, speed, agility and so on. For Day 1, it'll be the running backs, offensive linemen and specialists taking the stage at the 2017 NFL Combine.

Of course the most well-known test that we see at the NFL Combine starting on Day 1 is the 40-yard dash. However, the backs and linemen participated in the bench press on Thursday as a bit of a prelude to the event. Also included are the Vertical Jump, Broad Jump, 20-yard Shuttle, 60-yard Shuttle and Three-Cone Drill. Not every group participates in ever event, but we'll see all those events in some capacity on Friday.

How a players tests athletically at the NFL Combine isn't the end-all assessment for how good of a player he is. That's why they also have drills and film to help their stock as well. However, analytics guys love to see athletic testing for certain groups, which is why so many eyes turn to Indy this time of year.

All that being said, here's a look at the results from the running backs, offensive linemen and specialists testing at the 2017 NFL Combine on Friday for Day 1:

            Obviously things like the 40-yard dash don't mean much for the offensive lineman and specialists, while it does more so for the running backs. However, it's always interesting to see how these guys test athletically. As such, these numbers will certainly affect the draft stock of some of these prospects.
