Tim Tebow doesn’t get off the bench in third preseason game
By Sid Saraf, FOXSports.com
Hey, were you waiting to see what Tim Tebow was gonna do in Thursday’s preseason game against the Lions? Well, we’ll have to see you next week because he didn’t get in the game this week.
For those of you following at home, here is his stat line: 0 for 0 for 0 yards, 0 TDs and 0 INTs. He also had 0 carries for 0 yards. That’s impressive.
The Patriots let Tom Brady play into the third quarter despite him getting cut on his hand. Brady finished 16 of 24 for 185 yards and an interception. Backup Ryan Mallett took the team the rest of the way, completing 11 of 22 passes for 96 yards and a touchdown. The Patriots ended up getting blown out 40-9.
By the way, don’t think the fans at Ford Field didn’t notice:
Not sure if my ears are deceiving me, but thought I just heard a “Tebow, Tebow, Tebow” chant here at Ford Field.

Wow, a loud “Tebow! Tebow” chant has broken out.

No signs of Tebow warming up with just 4:15 left. Detroit fans might go home disappionted tonight

Well, it seems pretty clear that Tim Tebow is no higher than third on the depth chart. If it’s any comfort, he’ll get serious playing time next week, when NFL teams usually don’t let their starters or primary backups play much.
But at this point, it’s looking pretty grim. I still don’t know if he’s going to even make the team.
