Arizona Cardinals offense was historically bad against Carolina Panthers

The Cardinals were held to just 78 total yards in Saturday’s 27-16 loss to the Carolina Panthers. That’s really, really bad.

The Cleveland Browns held the previous record for fewest yards in a postseason game, 86 yards against the New York Giants on Dec. 21, 1958.

It appeared the Cards wouldn’t get the record, but Arizona began to lateral the ball around the field on the final play and lost 20 yards. Oy.

This season alone, there were nine scoring plays that went for more than 78 yards. Individual plays! Here they are:

Lamar Miller: 97 yards

Martavis Bryant:  94 yards

Latavius Murray: 90 yards

Colin Kaepernick: 90 yards

Tre Mason: 89 yards

Gio Bernard: 89 yards

Jeremy Hill: 85 yards

Le’Veon Bell: 81 yards

And why not save the best for last …

Marshawn Lynch: 79 yards
