Antonio Cromartie is getting physical with his own team

By Sid Saraf,

Antonio Cromartie doesn’t care, he just hits who he wants.

At least that’s the story coming out of Jets camp on Wednesday, as the cornerback is refusing to back down from physical play. According the the New York Daily News (via Pro Football Talk), Cromartie applied a high hit to young wide receiver Stephen Hill during practice.

Cromartie apparently shouted, “Don’t cry! Play ball!”

This isn’t something new. Cromartie has been stirring it up over the past month, mixing it up with Vidal Hazelton during drills and getting too rough with quarterback Mark Sanchez.

Some people out there love it. Count’s Peter Schrager as one of them:

Maybe it’s good that things are chippy in Jets camp. But save some for the season, Antonio. It doesn’t help to beat up your own team, even if the squad probably needs to play with a little bit of an edge.
