7 quirks that add to Zach Mettenberger’s legend status
Not a fan of Tim Tebow
At an SEC media day with LSU, he took a swipe out of nowhere at Tim Tebow saying, "it's not like I'm Tim Tebow and have terrible mechanics." If he compares himself to Tebow, Mettenberger might be on his way to a Hall of Fame career.

Mettenberger is a fan of the 1970s and 1980s sports legends
Mettenberger is a fan of the classics. He lists basketball great Larry Bird as the person he would most like to meet. Maybe he models his facial hair after the '70s as well.

Mettenberger stays up on the times
While the '70s may be his favorite time for sports stars, Mettenberger is on top of his pop culutre. His favorite movie is Anchorman, while he lists his favorite TV show as Game Of Thrones and his favorite actor as Vince Vaughn. Hopefully somewhere in all that TV and movie watching he is studying the playbook.
Mettenberger loved his facial hair
If the Titans hadn’t told him to cut it, he would absolutely still be growing that face jungle today. Maybe if he turns into a franchise QB like everyone is hoping, the Titans organization will let him bring it back.

Promotion should come as no surprise
Mettenberger led the NFL in passing yards in the preseason, showing a strong arm and good decision-making. While we all know the preseason doesn’t mean much, it certainly didn’t hurt his cause, as he made his first NFL start last week and definitely showed some signs of greatness.
He's not afraid to take a hit
While Mettenberger lacks pretty much any mobility as a QB, he has a presence about him that reminds many of Phillip Rivers. He has no problems hanging tough in the pocket and can throw it down the field with the best of them. If you want to last in this league you, better learn how to take a lick or two.

Not lacking for confidence
Mettenberger has already made the best defender in the NFL mad with his pregame antics. And to his credit, he didn’t even really seem to care. Confidence can take you a long way in this league, but you better have some talent to go along with it. While he may be able to secure a starting position this season, he needs to prove to the organization he is the man he says he is going forward.
