McCollum pulled down three rebounds and had two assists, tallying a plus-minus of +12 in his 36:01 on the floor. He tacked on one steal. McCollum went 4 of 10 from 3-point range.
Impact: McCollum really struggled from inside the arc, but he's been lethal lately outside of it by going 17 of 34 on 3-point tries over his last four games. The sharpshooter has hit at a 45.6 percent clip (36 of 79) on 3s while averaging a strong 23.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.2 assists during a 12-game run.
News: Jusuf Nurkic scored 19 points Thursday, going 8 of 14 from the field, as the Portland Trail Blazers topped the Indiana Pacers 100-86. Nurkic pulled down 17 rebounds and did not have an assist, tallying a plus-minus of +4 in his 31:31 on the floor. He added two blocks and two steals.
Impact: After being held under 10 points in three of his previous four games and going five straight with single-digit boards, Nurkic showed up on this night to register a season high in rebounds and become a factor in all phases. It's still anyone's guess if he'll rise to the occasion in a seemingly favorable matchup Saturday at home against Dallas.
News: Damian Lillard scored 26 points Thursday, going 8 of 21 from the field, as the Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Indiana Pacers 100-86. Lillard grabbed five rebounds and dished out eight assists, tallying a plus-minus of +10 in his 39:54 on the floor. He added one block. Lillard went 2 of 8 from 3-point range.
Impact: It doesn't look like owners need to worry about Lillard's recent injuries cropping up again. The dynamic point guard is averaging a stellar 26 points, 7.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists in five games since returning to the lineup. Three-point shooting has been his lone negative, as he's shot just 28.2 percent (11 of 39) from beyond the arc during that time frame.
News: Al-Farouq Aminu scored 12 points Thursday, going 4 of 11 from the field, as the Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Indiana Pacers 100-86. Aminu pulled down nine rebounds and had two assists, tallying a plus-minus of +7 in his 32:16 on the floor. He added one block and one steal. Aminu went 2 of 7 from behind the arc.
Impact: Though hardly a fantasy standout, Aminu is on a pretty solid four-game run in which he's averaged 12.8 points, nine rebounds and 0.8 blocks. The stretch forward has cooled off from behind the 3-point line, though, having shot 32 percent (16 of 50) over his past nine outings.
News: Darren Collison scored 23 points Thursday on 9-of-14 shooting as the Indiana Pacers fell to the Portland Trail Blazers 100-86. Collison did not grab a rebound but had three assists, tallying a plus-minus of -4 in his 35:43 on the floor. He added one steal. Collison went 5 of 6 from 3-point range.
Impact: Collison isn't normally a prolific scorer, but he's now put up 19 points or more in three of his past four games while shooting an excellent 65.9 percent from the field during that stretch. Those numbers likely will not be sustained, but he's certainly worth using while he's hot.
News: Victor Oladipo scored 23 points Thursday on 9-of-25 shooting as the Indiana Pacers lost to the Portland Trail Blazers 100-86. Oladipo grabbed seven rebounds and had three assists, tallying a plus-minus of +4 in his 35:45 of playing time. He added two blocks. Oladipo went 1 of 9 from 3-point range.
Impact: Oladipo still managed to put up plenty of points, though he was quite off in this one after shooting 51.6 percent from the floor over his first six games back from a knee injury. The zero steals were a surprise as well considering he had racked up 18 over those aforementioned six contests.
News: Thaddeus Young scored 10 points Thursday on 5-of-12 shooting as the Indiana Pacers fell to the Portland Trail Blazers 100-86. Young pulled down 14 rebounds and had three assists, tallying a plus-minus of -2 in his 37:04 of playing time. He added two steals.
Impact: The rebounds were a season high and marked only the third time this season that Young has recorded double-digits in that category. The veteran is maintaining his status as a dependable but somewhat limited fantasy option by averaging 12.7 points and 7.7 boards over his last six outings.
News: Domantas Sabonis scored nine points Thursday on 4-of-9 shooting as the Indiana Pacers fell to the Portland Trail Blazers 100-86. Sabonis grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out three assists, tallying a plus-minus of 0 in his 33:29 of playing time. He added one block and one steal.
Impact: Sabonis has been a bit of a mixed bag of late, as he's recorded double-digit rebounds in three of his past four games but is averaging just 9.3 points over his last three. The son of the former Blazers' great did average 20.3 points on 67.3 percent shooting over the first four games of January, and he's still in a good spot with Myles Turner not yet quite ready to return from an elbow injury.
News: Evan Turner scored two points Thursday, going 1 of 6 from the field, as the Portland Trail Blazers defeated the Indiana Pacers 100-86. Turner grabbed two rebounds and added an assist, tallying a plus-minus of +7 in his 25:21 of playing time.

Impact: Teague hasn't shot the ball particularly well of late, connecting on just 39.2 percent of his field goal attempts over his last four games. He's still been a solid, though not upper-level, fantasy point guard since returning from a knee injury last week. He's averaging 12.2 points, 5.6 assists and two steals in five games upon coming back.
News: Jimmy Butler scored 23 points Thursday, going 8 of 15 from the field, as the Minnesota Timberwolves lost to the Houston Rockets 116-98. Butler pulled down four rebounds and dished out two assists, accumulating a plus-minus of -10 in his 42:16 of playing time. He added one block and two steals.
Impact: It's the 15th time in Butler's last 17 games in which he's reached the 20-point mark, a stretch in which he's averaged 25.3 points on 51.1 percent shooting. The star guard is also averaging 2.35 steals during that period, second only to LeBron James for tops in the league over that span.
News: Karl-Anthony Towns scored 22 points Thursday on 10-of-19 shooting as the Minnesota Timberwolves lost to the Houston Rockets 116-98. Towns grabbed 16 rebounds and had three assists, accumulating a plus-minus of +2 in his 36:57 on the floor. He added five blocks and two steals. Towns went 1 of 7 from behind the arc.
Impact: Towns struggled from the outside after going 11 of 16 on 3-point tries over his previous six games, but still managed an 11th straight double-double and was a blocks machine in this one. As automatic a fantasy option there is from the center position, the likely All-Star is averaging 20.4 points, 14.6 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.6 blocks during an eight-game roll.
News: Andrew Wiggins scored 16 points Thursday, going 5 of 12 from the field, as the Minnesota Timberwolves lost to the Houston Rockets 116-98. Wiggins grabbed five rebounds and dished out three assists, accumulating a plus-minus of -31 in his 33:39 of playing time. He added one block and one steal. Wiggins went 3 of 5 from behind the arc.
Impact: After struggling to nine points on 4-of-12 shooting Tuesday in Orlando, Wiggins followed up with his worst plus-minus effort of the season. Though he's still averaging a respectable 17.5 points and 4.4 rebounds overall, the 22-year-old's reputation still exceeds his actual fantasy value.
News: Chris Paul scored 19 points Thursday on 6-of-12 shooting as the Houston Rockets topped the Minnesota Timberwolves 116-98. Paul grabbed six rebounds and had nine assists, tallying a plus-minus of +23 in his 35:27 of playing time. He tacked on three steals. Paul went 4 of 8 from 3-point range.
Impact: As expected, Paul's shot totals went down as James Harden returned to the lineup - he averaged nearly 18 field goal attempts and 22.4 points in the seven games Harden missed with a hamstring injury. Still, don't even think about sitting the Point God, as he'll still be an elite source of assists and steals and Harden will remain on a minutes limit for the time being.
News: Clint Capela scored 20 points Thursday on 7-of-9 shooting as the Houston Rockets defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves 116-98. Capela grabbed five rebounds and did not have an assist, accumulating a plus-minus of -3 in his 26:02 on the floor. He added one block and one steal.
Impact: The unheralded center is quietly having an excellent start to the new year. In eight January games, Capela is averaging 16.1 points on 62.7 percent shooting along with 10.3 rebounds and 1.6 blocks.
News: Eric Gordon scored 30 points Thursday on 11-of-19 shooting as the Houston Rockets topped the Minnesota Timberwolves 116-98. Gordon grabbed three rebounds and had three assists, tallying a plus-minus of +23 in his 35:14 on the floor. He added one block and one steal. Gordon went 7 of 13 from behind the arc.
Impact: Gordon matched a season high for 3-pointers made while bailing out a Rockets team saddled by an off night by the returning James Harden. The long-distance bomber shot just 30 percent from the field while totaling 33 points over his previous two games, so it's hardly a given he'll repeat this effort Saturday against the Warriors.
News: Gorgui Dieng scored four points Thursday, going 2 of 3 from the field, as the Minnesota Timberwolves fell to the Houston Rockets 116-98. Dieng pulled down three rebounds and did not have an assist, accumulating a plus-minus of -12 in his 14:42 of playing time. He added one block.

News: Afflalo has been suspended two games without pay by the NBA for punching Minnesota's Nemanja Bjelica in the head Tuesday. Though both players were ejected after Bjelica put Afflalo in a headlock, only Afflalo was punished Thursday by NBA executive vice president of operations Kiki VanDeWeghe.

News: Gasol (illness) is listed as questionable for Friday's game against the Kings.
Impact: Gasol was held out of Wednesday's contest with an illness, but with an additional few days off for rest, there's hope that he could make his return Friday. His availability for morning shootaround will likely be a good indicator of his eventual status, so look for another update to be released after that session. In Gasol's place Wednesday, it was Deyonta Davis (24 minutes) who started, with Jarrell Martin (31 minutes) and Ivan Rabb (14 minutes) seeing added time off the bench. That said, Brandan Wright (illness) is also questionable and could return, which would cut into all those aforementioned players workloads.

With his absence, Terry Rozier will likely see an expanded role. He's a little less reliable for fantasy lineups, though, due to his inconsistent shooting and low steal and block totals.

Impact: Russell has been sidelined since mid-November following a procedure on his left knee, but has gone through some practices with the Nets' G-League affiliate recently and has now finally been cleared for a return to action. Considering he's had nearly two months off, Russell will likely have some significant restrictions in his first few games back, so fantasy owners may want to temper expectations from the get go until he's back on a full workload. That said, Russell averaged 20.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.0 steal and 1.5 three-pointers across 27.8 minutes over the first 12 games of the season, so his return marks a huge boost for season-long owners who stuck with him through the injury. Look for official clearance to come after Friday's morning shootaround and his return should eventually mean a much smaller role for Spencer Dinwiddie. It wouldn't be surprising, however, if Russell came off the bench initially.
