Shannon Sharpe reveals why there’s no concern despite LeBron’s Cavs falling to Wade’s Heat

Video Details

Although the Cleveland Cavaliers were blown out last night by D-Wade and the Miami Heat, Shannon Sharpe explains to Skip Bayless and Joy Taylor why he is not worried about LeBron's Cavs as the 2018 NBA playoffs rapidly approach. Do you agree with Shannon?

- Shannon?

- Mhm?

- Is there any cause for concern for the Cavs?

- No. No. And I love how we-- block is an official stat here at "Undisputed."

- What?

- You had-- you ain't no what! You know what!

JOY TAYLOR: Blocks are not an official state?

- Yeah, they are now in the rut, so now, that's what we read. LeBron has had plenty of games.

- They've been an official stat--

SHANNON SHARPE: No.

- --since the beginning of NBA time.

SHANNON SHARPE: No, they have not.

- What are you talking about?

- They just became-- blocks became an official stat in the late '70s.

SKIP BAYLESS: Oh, what?

- You know that, too, Skip Bayless.

- What?

SHANNON SHARPE: You know what? But that's OK. No-- Skip, here's the thing-- I'm going to be kind-- the Cavs do not play very good defense. Notice I said I'm going to be kind.

SKIP BAYLESS: Yeah.

- OK. They don't play defense. They're a three-point shooting team. If you don't play defense--

SKIP BAYLESS: Yeah.

- --and you don't hit threes--

SKIP BAYLESS: Mhm.

- You go down by 10, 15 points--

SKIP BAYLESS: Mhm.

- --in the blink of an eye.

SKIP BAYLESS: Yup.

- And that's what happened last night. They were 4 from 26 from the three-point line.

SKIP BAYLESS: Yeah.

- 15%. And you say, well, why did they keep shooting them? Because that's what they are. Offensively, that's what they do. LeBron loves to play with one big. Normally it's Kevin Love, and then he has three spot-up shooters. OK, he drives the ball. They come help, he kick-- they miss. The other team goes back down the court.

SKIP BAYLESS: Mm.

- Dribble penetration. They get wide open looks. That's what it is. Kevin Love went-- man, I don't know what it is, Skip. If there's anything that can go wrong, if there's an injury to be had on the court, it's going to find Kevin love.

SKIP BAYLESS: Mhm.

- Be it his shoulder, be it his knee, his foot-- the man takes-- he just got back. Just got back. Elbow to the mouth, and then tooth.

SKIP BAYLESS: Mm.

- Now, he's looking like a hockey player.

SKIP BAYLESS: Mm.

- And I knew, I was like, he's done. Concussion-like symptoms, he didn't return.

SKIP BAYLESS: No.

- So like LeBron said, the rotation is messed up. Then, they put JR. And I tweeted last night, JR, out there, GAFing. He ain't-- he don't even-- Skip, he don't even care. He came straight from Live. Straight in!

- You think he came straight from Live to the game?

SHANNON SHARPE: Yeah!

- Oof.

SHANNON SHARPE: You saw him. Joy, you saw him.

SKIP BAYLESS: Oof.

JOY TAYLOR: I don't know.

- At some point in time, I mean, JR, you got to start bull-jiving.

SKIP BAYLESS: Yeah.

- And he wonders why his minutes are diminishing.

SKIP BAYLESS: Mm.

- Because you get out there, and you act like you don't even care.

SKIP BAYLESS: Well, he didn't play a whole lot.

- Yeah, that's too much. How much did he play? How many minutes?

SKIP BAYLESS: 16.

- That's too many. That was 16 too many, coming straight up out of the club.

SKIP BAYLESS: [SIGHS] Took only four shots.

- That's too many, too.

SKIP BAYLESS: Made one.

- Well, he-- no.

SKIP BAYLESS: Mm.

- I'm not concerned. This is what they are. And this is what we've seen. Skip, when we watch the Cavaliers play, this is what we know. When they lose, they normally lose big. When they play bad, they look god awful.

SKIP BAYLESS: Mm.

- And that's what happens when you don't play defense and you're a three-point shooting team because when those shots don't go in, you shoot 4 for 26, you're going to be down in the blink of an eye. And that's what they were. And I'm looking at-- I'm like, 18? LeBron normally has 18 in the first half!

SKIP BAYLESS: Mm.

- They got 18 in the first quarter--

SKIP BAYLESS: Yeah.

- --16 in the second quarter for 34 points. Where do you think you're going to be with scoring 34 points? Even if you get to 70 points in the second half, that's only 104.

SKIP BAYLESS: Mhm.

- No, no, no.

SKIP BAYLESS: Mm.

- So but I'm not concerned, and neither should you be.

SKIP BAYLESS: You're telling me what to say now.

- Yeah, no.

- OK.

- You can say whatever you want.

- Mm.

- But as long as that guy-- you know it.
