Watch DeMarcus Cousins knock down his first shot with the Pelicans

The DeMarcus Cousins era in New Orleans has begun and the Pelicans’ newest star got it going early Thursday against the Rockets.

Cousins scored the first points of the game after setting a high screen for Jrue Holiday, who swung it back to Cousins for an open 20-footer.

Cousins knocked down another jumper later in the quarter, this time off the dribble.

Cousins hit three of his first four shots and finished the first quarter with eight points and two rebounds. Anthony Davis had eight points and one rebound as the Rockets took a 30-28 lead after one quarter.
