Warriors beat Spurs 122-105 to give Kerr 250th win

Published Feb. 11, 2018 12:23 a.m. ET

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) Klay Thompson scored 25 points, 10 coming in the third quarter to help Golden State pull away, and the Warriors beat the San Antonio Spurs 122-105 on Saturday night.

Stephen Curry added 17 points and eight assists as coach Steve Kerr earned his 250th career coaching victory. Draymond Green had 17 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds in another well-rounded outing - and his first technical-free game in the last three.

Kerr became the fastest to 250 coaching wins in NBA history, doing so in 302 games. That tops his former coach, Phil Jackson, who reached the mark in 346 games. Yet Kerr, the 2016 NBA Coach of the Year, received 39 victories during a leave of absence following complications from back surgery at the start of the 2015-16 season, when then-top assistant and current Lakers coach Luke Walton coached Golden State.

Zaza Pachulia scored 12 points on his 34th birthday and Kevin Durant was limited to a season-low 10 points in a rare cold night from the floor at 3 of 9, but had six rebounds and dished out six assists.

LaMarcus Aldridge and Kyle Anderson led San Antonio with 20 points apiece, while Manu Ginobili had 13 points and six assists off the bench for the Spurs.

MAVERICKS 130, LAKERS 123

DALLAS (AP) - Dirk Nowitzki scored a season-high 22 points, Harrison Barnes had 21 and last-place Dallas spoiled Isaiah Thomas' strong debut with the Lakers.

Thomas finished with 22 points and already looks like a better fit in coach Luke Walton's offense than he did in an ill-fated 15-game stint with Cleveland after the offseason trade that sent Kyrie Irving to Boston.

The diminutive guard's first half with the Lakers was his highest-scoring half of the season, a team-high 16 points.

Doug McDermott had eight points in his Dallas debut following a deadline deal that brought him from New York and was part of a youthful closing lineup that outscored the Lakers 13-5 in the final 3:09.

76ERS 112, CLIPPERS 98

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Joel Embiid had 29 points and tied a career high with 16 rebounds, and Philadelphia beat Los Angeles for its third straight victory.

JJ Redick and T.J. McConnell each had 17 points for the 76ers, who were 10 of 17 (58.8 percent) from 3-point range in the first half and shot 55.1 percent overall to lead 69-55 at halftime. Ben Simmons had 14 points, 10 assists and five rebounds.

Former Sixers guard Lou Williams led the Clippers with 23 points, and Danilo Gallinari had 22.

WIZARDS 101, BULLS 90

CHICAGO (AP) - Tomas Satoransky scored a career-high 25 points on 10-of-12 shooting and Washington beat Chicago.

Satoransky's career night, though, was cut short. He fell hard to the court and hit his head after being fouled with 2 minutes left in the game. He was taken to the locker room bleeding from the right temple.

Otto Porter Jr. and Mike Scott had 15 points apiece as the Wizards won for the sixth time in seven games.

Justin Holiday had 15 points and Bobby Portis added 13 for Chicago, which has dropped eight of nine.

BUCKS 111, MAGIC 104

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) - Giannis Antetokounmpo had 32 points and Jason Terry came off the bench to score 11 points in the second half in Milwaukee's victory over Orlando.

A couple of 3-pointers by the 40-year-old Terry put the Bucks ahead to stay late in the third quarter, although the game stayed close until Antetokounmpo's three-point play made it 107-100 with 45.7 seconds left. Milwaukee stayed ahead by hitting 13 of 20 shots in the fourth quarter, winning for the eighth time in 10 games.

Mario Hezonja led Orlando with 23 points. Evan Fournier added 20, and Shelvin Mack had 19.

Khris Middleton had 21 points, nine rebounds and seven assists for Milwaukee.

PELICANS 138, NETS 128, 2 OTS

NEW YORK (AP) - Anthony Davis had 44 points and 17 rebounds, Rajon Rondo had a triple-double, and New Orleans recovered after blowing a 28-point lead to beat Brooklyn.

Rondo finished with 25 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds as the Pelicans snapped a three-game losing streak. Nikola Mirotic had 21 points and 16 boards, and Jrue Holiday chipped in 22 points.

Allen Crabbe made eight 3-pointers and scored 28 points for the Nets, who have lost their last four games.

NUGGETS 123, SUNS 113

PHOENIX (AP) - Wilson Chandler scored 26 points, Will Barton had 25 point and Denver used an extended second-half run to take control in a victory over Phoenix.

Nikola Jokic had 21 points, nine rebounds and seven assists, and Gary Harris had 13 points for the Nuggets, who have won four of five.

TJ Warren had 31 points and Dragan Bender had a career-high 23 for the Suns, who have lost five in a row, 10 of 11 and 13 of 15. One of those wins came in Denver on Jan. 19. Their only other victory in that stretch was against Dallas at home.
