Steve Kerr explains why he smashed his whiteboard in Game 1
Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr made an uncharacteristically strong show of emotion in Game 1 of the NBA Finals Thursday night at the expense of a whiteboard.
The Incredible Hulk-esque smash came after the Cavaliers went on a 7-0 run early in the third quarter to cut a Warriors’ lead to four points.
Here’s what Kerr had to say about the impressive fist smash that sent pieces of the whiteboard flying:
Kerr on breaking clipboards: "Destruction tends to ease some of the anger, so I try to take it out on the board rather than a player."

"We lost our intensity," Kerr said between the third and fourth quarters. "It felt like a November game and not a June game."
The Warriors didn’t run away with the game until the fourth quarter but I’ll estimate that Kerr’s smash was worth +6.
