Stephen Curry is happy in Golden State, but will he ever play for Charlotte?

Stephen Curry, arguably the best basketball player in the world, is from Charlotte and loves his hometown. The idea of him returning there when he hits free agency, to play for the local Charlotte Hornets, is something people within that organization surely pray for every day.
But it all seems so unlikely. Curry is rolling through the league with the Golden State Warriors, a team that complements his skill-set to a tee. Still, it probably doesn’t hurt the Hornets’ chances that Curry’s latest colorway of his sneaker is an ode to his roots in North Carolina:
Curry will become an unrestricted free agent next summer, and every team in the league will drool over the chance to get him. Right now, it appears Charlotte is on Curry’s mind, even if this shoe isn’t in Hornets colors. It’s the thought that counts, after all. And frankly, we’re not going to rain on Charlotte’s parade.
