McCollum, 24, was a little-used backup in each of his first two NBA seasons but blossomed upon becoming a starter in his third year. The 2013 10th overall pick averaged 20.8 points, 4.3 assists and 3.2 rebounds in 34.8 minutes and started all 80 games he played in after starting only three of 100 games in his previous two seasons.
McCollum was the Blazers’ second-leading scorer behind fellow guard Damian Lillard, and he made 41.7 percent of his 3-pointers during a season in which Portland finished fifth in the Western Conference with a 44-38 record and made it to the second round of the playoffs.
