The Washington Wizards’ Paul Pierce apparently was annoyed at the Sacramento Kings’ Omri Casspi for something Casspi did earlier in Sunday’s game. Casspi hit Pierce in the face.

(Or perhaps, as others have suggested, Pierce was in a bad mood because his alma mater, Kansas, was eliminated from the NCAA tournament by Wichita State on Sunday.)

In any case, with Casspi driving toward the basket, Pierce gave the Kings forward a two-hand shove, sending him sprawling into the fans sitting behind the baseline — including a little girl who looks to be about 5 years old. Casspi is 6 feet 9, 225 pounds. The girl apparently was OK, but by the way she grabbed hold of the man seated next to her and held on for dear life, she might have thought Pierce deserved more than just a flagrant foul 1.
