With the NBA season about to start up, another basketball season is about to close: the WNBA one. Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine are apparently excited to watch the end of it, as the Minnesota Lynx head into Game 2 of their finals matchup with the Indiana Fever.

The Lynx made a pretty cool announcement Monday:

There's obviously a major PR move involved in this. The WNBA is trying all kinds of ways to promote the league and solicit a spike in popularity. Getting two local and popular stars to purchaser and then give away tickets is a nice start.

Either way, it's always fun to see NBA players get involved in the women's game, which doesn't get enough attention considering that it's actually entertaining basketball.

There's a personal loyalty here, too. Timberwolves color commentator Jim Petersen is also an assistant on the Lynx staff.

Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine of the Minnesota Timberwolves have secured 1,000 tickets for Game 2 of the WNBA Finals on Tuesday, October 6 (7 p.m. CT tip) at Target Center. Beginning Monday at 8 a.m., the first 500 fans that log on to will have the opportunity to obtain the seats compliments of Wiggin and LaVine; limit two per customer.
