Memphis Grizzlies vs. Golden State Warriors: Round Three

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 8:39 p.m. ET

The Memphis Grizzlies (33-22) host the Golden State Warriors (44-8) tonight in round three of a series that has been ALL MEMPHIS thus far.

The Memphis Grizzlies are the only team to beat Golden State two times in a row since the Warriors blew a 3-1 lead in The Finals.

I’m sorry, I couldn’t resist. Here’s what this series looks like so far:

Round one: the series kicked off in the Grindhouse. Memphis held the offensive juggernauts to 89 points, leading to a 21 point rout of the Warriors.

Round two: the Grizzlies did typical Grizzlies things, grinding back from a 24-point deficit in the second half to knock off Golden State in overtime on their home court.

Yes, this Memphis team accounts for 25-percent of the Warriors losses so far this season. They look to make that 33-percent tonight.

    Memphis Grizzlies: Heating up

This Memphis team is 7-3 in their last 10 games, including wins over the Toronto Raptors, Utah Jazz and San Antonio Spurs. Against the top four teams in the Western Conference, they’re currently 9-2.

Excitement is high in Grind City – the injury report is completely clear and the returns of Toney Douglas and Brandan Wright negate most trade speculations.

The Grizzlies announced yesterday that Chandler Parsons will be inactive tonight for a “previously scheduled rest day.” It’s unfortunate, because Parsons has shown major improvement in performance. It’s acceptable, though, because he was a no-factor in both of Memphis’s wins over the Warriors this season.

A win tonight against Golden State would do a few things:
