Matt Barnes' court date reportedly postponed because he might play in the NBA Finals
Less than 24 hours after making his 2017 debut with the Warriors, Matt Barnes was in court in New York City on Friday.
The Golden State wingman faced arraignment for misdemeanor assault charges stemming from an alleged altercation in a New York nightclub on Dec. 5, yet his lawyer successfully argued that Barnes' next court date should be delayed until after the NBA playoffs because he could be playing for a championship in June.

A potential Game 7 in the NBA Finals is scheduled for June 18, which would give Barnes a little more than a week to prepare for his court date — assuming the Warriors make the Finals after Kevin Durant's knee injury, that is.
