Shelly Sterling’s name is on the Clippers’ new floor

The Sterling name is the last thing Clippers fans want to see on the team's new court.

A lot has changed since former Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling's ugly side was fully exposed.

The team has a new owner (Steve Ballmer), a new president of basketball ops. (coach Doc Rivers), a new logo, a new court and new jerseys. Though some employees remain, the franchise has undergone massive reconstructive surgery and is barely recognizable.

But one thing remains: Shelly Sterling, Donald's estranged wife who he recently filed for divorce against.

Though Shelly's involvement with Donald's antics is unclear, it's understandable why some Clippers fans would be upset with the Sterling name being anywhere near a Clippers court.

With that said, part of the agreement in the sale to Steve Ballmer called for Shelly to be “owner emeritus” and “Clippers Number One Fan.” That was the lesser of two evils, of course, and Clippers fans would make the deal 100 out of 100 times.
