Sacramento Kings swingman Francisco Garcia believes he will be the “same player” after recovering from injuries to his forearm and wrist.
The 6-foot-7 Dominican from the Bronx had surgery Saturday to repair a broken bone in his right forearm and ligament damage to his wrist while lifting weights. The team has said he will be in a cast for eight weeks and will miss at least four months.
In a Monday e-mail, Garcia, 28, said “this injury is not going to change my style of game.”
He also maintains the recuperation time will allow him to improve certain aspects of his play.
The fifth-year player averaged 12.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 65 games, 36 of them starts, for Sacramento last season.
