Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey has admitted his lame attempt at humor during a Twitter Q-and-A on Wednesday landed with a big thud — in addition to raising a lot of eyebrows.

In case you missed it, Morey was asked a perfectly reasonable question: Does having a job in basketball make you sick of watching it?

His response? Well, just take a look:

OK, then … While he has yet to delete the tweet, he had to have noticed some of the negative responses, which were swift:

On Thursday, Morey admitted the attempt at a joke "was in bad taste" when asked about it during an NBA Developmental League showcase in Santa Cruz, Calif., according to the Houston Chronicle.

"I had a tweet that was in bad taste," Morey said. "I’m going to leave the comedy to the professionals. I think I’m going to stick with my GM job."

Morey reportedly did not comment when asked if he had been punished in any way by league officials for his Twitter gaffe.
