Grizzlies sign forward Julian Wallace to two-way contract

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — The Memphis Grizzlies have signed forward Julian Wallace to a two-way contract and have waived forward/center Jarnell Stokes.

Washburn, 27, has played 23 games with the NBA G League’s Austin Spurs and has averaged 10.6 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 31.6 minutes. He has shot 44.4 percent from the field and 37.1 percent from 3-point range with Austin.

The 6-foot-8 Washburn is in his third season with Austin and also has played professionally in Germany and New Zealand. He was undrafted after playing four years at UTEP, where he was the 2014-15 Conference USA defensive player of the year.

Stokes signed a two-way contract with the Grizzlies on Jan. 1 and had since played two games with the Memphis Hustle, the Grizzlies’ NBA G League affiliate.
