This year's Las Vegas Summer League is going to be good. And it gets started in spectacular fashion on Friday.
At 8:30 p.m. ET on NBA TV, the Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Lakers will face off live from Las Vegas in the first game of summer league for both teams. While the spotlight will naturally be on the top two picks, Karl-Anthony Towns and D'Angelo Russell, there will be an array of young, talented players on the court. Julius Randle will be back in game action for the first time for the Lakers since his leg injury, and Los Angeles also boasts Larry Nance Jr. and second-year player Jordan Clarkson, who alongside Russell should have the Lakers' offense buzzing.
The Wolves, on the other hand, flank Towns with Tyus Jones and Zach LaVine, who's guaranteed to throw down some highlight-worthy dunks in the not-always-stingy defensive environment of Las Vegas.
