Updated Mar. 4, 2020 11:30 p.m. ET

Miami Heat guard Dion Waiters sprained his ankle in Tuesday’s win against the Minnesota Timberwolves, and his status is unclear going forward.

Dion Waiters sprained his ankle during in the third quarter of the Miami Heat’s 115-113 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves Tuesday and though he did remain in the game, his status going forward is questionable, according to the Miami Herald’s Barry Jackson.

Waiters finished the game with 12 points, 5 assists and 3 rebounds, though he was clearly hobbled after the injury. Waiters seemed to have rolled his ankle after stepping on the foot of the Timberwolves’ Gorgui Dieng while driving to the basket. Waiters managed to finish the game, but was seen in a walking boot afterwards.

The Heat next play Wednesday against the Milwaukee Bucks. It’s possible Waiters is able to go by then, and the team will surely keep an eye on that ankle.

Waiters is averaging 15.5 points, 4.2 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game this season and has played a key role in Miami’s 11-game win streak. If Waiters were to be sidelined, it could very well put Miami’s playoff push in jeopardy.
