An Achilles tear is one of the most difficult injuries for an athlete to come back from, but Detroit Pistons guard Brandon Jennings says he's ready to get back into action and play.

Jennings has dressed out and has been available on Detroit's bench the last few games, but head coach Stan Van Gundy has stuck with Steve Blake as his backup point guard and hasn't given Jennings any playing time quite yet.

While that could change soon, Jennings reiterated to Terry Foster of the Detroit News that he's ready and able to play:

“I'm fine, I'm ready,” said Jennings, who has not played for the Pistons since suffering an Achilles tear last January. “However, this is not my decision. This is my coach's decision, so I wait and see.”

Jennings should find his way back into the rotation soon enough, likely as soon as Van Gundy is more comfortable with how his body will respond and recover to real NBA minutes.
