Dennis Rodman charged with hit-and-run in wrong-way freeway crash

Published Dec. 9, 2016 12:34 p.m. ET

Dennis Rodman was charged by Orange County prosecutors with hit-and-run for his involvement in a wrong-way crash in Southern California.

The charges stem from an accident that occurred July 20 on Interstate 5 in Santa Ana.

According to prosecutors, Rodman was driving his SUV north in a southbound carpool lane around 12:30 a.m., forcing the other driver to drive into a dividing wall. Rodman's attorney says the accident occurred due to a poorly signed exit ramp.

If convicted, Rodman, 55, could face two years in county jail.
