Damian Lillard says Blazers 'kind of suck right now'

The Blazers surprised everyone by finishing 44-38 last season and advancing to the second round of the playoffs, but a year later, things seem to be headed in the opposite direction 13 games into the season.

Portland is just 7-6 thus far, and after a disappointing 17-point loss to the Rockets in a game that was tied at the half, Damian Lillard succinctly summed up his team's start to the season.

"We kind of suck right now," he told reporters, via ESPN. "It's that simple."

While giving up 127 points to the Rockets in Houston isn't necessarily anything to be embarrassed about, the Blazers rank just 27th in the league in defensive efficiency.

"We've just got to keep fighting," Lillard said. "It's important for our team to stay together, and I think that's one of the biggest strengths of our team, is we stay together. If we try to stay positive, and we just keep working and keep fighting, I think at some point it'll click.

"We'll get it right, and things will be fine. But I think everybody's frustrated."
