Dallas Mavericks guard J.J. Barea is one tough son of a gun, a pint-sized agitator who has been known to knock much larger men (hello, Russell Westbrook) off their game.

But being one of the league’s shortest players also comes with its inherent practical jokes, such as this one when someone with the Mavs swapped Barea’s locker chair for a baby carrier. And this one when Barea made his return to Dallas after signing with the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Mavs welcomed  him back with a high chair and a couple of rattles in front of his locker in the visiting locker room.

And then sometimes Barea simply brings it upon himself. That’s certainly the case in the wonderful photo below that someone shot at the Santa Monica Pier and posted on with the Mavs in Los Angeles to play the Lakers on Tuesday night.

Barea, officially listed as 6-foot, but who is actually much closer to 5-8, is riding a tandem bicycle with 7-foot center JaVale McGee. Barea, of course, is riding the back part of the bike and looks like, well, a bored youngster who’s tired of listening to dear, old dad.
