Patrick Patterson and the Raptors face off against Dirk Nowitzki and the Mavericks, and for Patterson the “respect” factor will play a huge role.
During Tuesday's shootaround interview, Patterson was asked about transitioning from a game against Sacramento's DeMarcus Cousins to one against Nowitzki. Even though Nowitzki is now 37, Patterson knows he's got tough competition in Dallas.
“He may be older than the average player in the NBA. But he's vintage,” said Patterson. “He's just like wine. He gets better with age. He's just so creative with his post moves, his shot is impossible to block.”

When the two big men face off, all Patterson can do is hope that Nowitzki misses.
