Cavs’ Smith wins $30K for military member with half-court shot

They don’t call him J.R. Swish for nothing.

The Cleveland Cavaliers don’t have their first preseason game until Wednesday, when they’ll take on the Atlanta Hawks. On Monday night, though, the team held an intrasquad scrimmage that was open to the public — and J.R. Smith stole the show before the game even started.

Smith had the opportunity to take a shot from midcourt with $30,000 on the line for a member of the military, finding nothing but the bottom of the net (courtesy of the Cavs):

Is it a good sign for Cleveland’s 2015-16 campaign? Only time will tell.
