The Hornets found Michael Kidd-Gilchrist’s temporary replacement
The Charlotte Hornets don't have Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to start at small forward this season, which (obviously) means they need to find a replacement. Does that mean striking a trade at some point, or is the answer already on their roster?
For the opening night, at least, Charlotte has their man.
P.J. Hairston was drafted because he has good size, can shoot threes and space the floor. His rookie year was a disaster (the 22-year-old barely cracked 30 percent from deep), but Year 2 could be a step in the right direction.
If it is, Charlotte will win more games than most expect.
Steve Clifford plans to start P.J. Hairston in Wednesday's season-opener.
