Our takeaways from Hawks vs. Rockets focuses on Atlanta’s fourth quarter comeback. Tim Hardaway Jr. was outstanding, scoring 23 points in the game’s final quarter. DeAndre’ Bembry‘s defense on James Harden also stood out. Mike Budenholzer’s unique late game lineup choices proved correct as the Hawks erased a 20-point deficit over the game’s final eight minutes.

Our own Tyler Sellers writes on the inspirational nature of Atlanta’s comeback effort against the Rockets. Tim Hardaway Jr. going into full superhero mode stood out the most to Sellers. He also noted Dwight Howard‘s perfect screen on former teammate Patrick Beverley.

On Locked on Hawks, Brad Rowland recaps the wild win over the Rockets. As expected, he focuses on the performance of Tim Hardaway Jr. and James Harden. Rowland also was impressed with DeAndre’ Bembry’s contributions.
Kris Willis of Peachtree Hoops discusses Tim Hardaway Jr.’s development after his tremendous performance against the Houston Rockets. Hardaway has taken a leap of sorts this season. He’s gone from little used bench player to valuable role player. Will the Hawks retain him next summer? I’d bet yes.
Chris Vivlamore of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution recaps the Hawks win over the Rockets. His quotes from DeAndre’ Bembry about defending James Harden were particularly interesting. Vivlamore also mentions Mike Budenholzer leaving Paul Millsap and Dennis Schroder on the bench during the comeback. He didn’t want to mess with the chemistry of the group that had started the comeback.
ESPN’s Calvin Watkins reported on Dwight Howard’s feelings about Atlanta’s victory over Houston. Howard was excited about the win, but the opponent didn’t seem to matter.
Rodger Sherman of The Ringer also gave his take on Tim Hardaway Jr.’s fourth quarter carnival ride.
