Our recap from Atlanta’s blowout loss to the Miami Heat. The Hawks looked sluggish in their first game since winning a four overtime battle against the New York Knicks on Sunday. Atlanta’s three-point shooting was off the mark and the Heat couldn’t miss. Mike Budenholzer wisely elected to rest his starters for much of the second half.
Our preview for Atlanta’s Thursday night tilt with the Houston Rockets. The Rockets have the third best record in the Western Conference and boast an MVP level player in James Harden. We predicted the Hawks to lose quite handily. Was our prediction right on the money, or did the Hawks pull off the upset?

Hawks Around The Web 2/2/17
On the latest episode of Locked on Hawks, Brad Rowland recaps the debacle that was the blowout loss to Miami. He also discussed the trade deadline and previewed Thursday’s game against the Houston Rockets.
Kris Willis at Peachtree Hoops looks into Atlanta’s recent defensive woes. Over the last five contests they’ve allowed 119.2 points per game. They are 2-3 over those five games.
At SB Nation, Kristian Winfield brings up Dwight Howard‘s departure from the Houston Rockets. Winfield says that Howard’s exit from Houston was good for both sides. Howard has found a perfect role with his hometown team and the Rockets have flourished under Mike D’Antoni.
ESPN’s Calvin Watkins reports on Dwight Howard’s expectations entering into the game against his former team. Howard said he is prepared to hear boos. That should not come as a surprise to anyone that followed his career with the Rockets.
Chris Vivlamore at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution details how the Hawks’ lackluster defense led to their loss to the Heat. Their defense was particularly troubling early in the game.
