AP Source: Utah Jazz get Joe Johnson for 2 years, $22M

A person with knowledge of the situation tells The Associated Press that the Utah Jazz have agreed to terms with Joe Johnson on a two-year deal worth $22 million.

The two sides came to agreement on Friday night, just over 24 hours after the free agent market opened. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the deal cannot be signed until July 7.

Johnson gives the up-and-coming Jazz a proven scorer and level-headed veteran as they try to climb the ladder in the Western Conference. The seven-time All-Star turned 35 this week.

He averaged 12.2 points and shot 38 percent from 3-point range while playing with Brooklyn and Miami last season.

The deal was first reported by NBA.com.
