Pistons’ Drummond admits speeding photo was ‘silly mistake’

Is Andre Drummond a fast driver? Yes, apparently.

Is the rising Detroit Pistons star a quick thinker when it comes to deciding what to post on social media? Well, probably not in this particular situation.

Drummond, 21, had to acknowledge he made a "silly mistake" after a picture of him driving at least 96 mph showed up on Fansided.com, which reported Drummond shared the image via Snapchat.

Drummond confirmed to The Associated Press after Saturday’s 108-101 loss to Philadelphia in overtime that he uploaded the picture and he was the driver.

"I’ll own up to it," Drummond said after registering seven points and eight rebounds in 21 minutes vs. the 76ers. "It was a silly mistake. I’ve just got to move forward from it. It won’t happen again."

The Free Press in Detroit identified the third-year center’s ride as a Mercedes-Benz and said the photo was snapped on a stretch of I-75 where the speed limit is 70 mph.
