    News

Zubac pitched in 16 points (4-7 FG, 8-8 FT), seven rebounds, one assist and one block across 22 minutes in the Clippers' 134-107 win over the Suns on Wednesday.

    Impact

Zubac managed to avoid foul trouble -- never a guarantee when it comes to the young center -- to bounce back from a rough, truncated outing in his last game against the Timberwolves. The 21-year-old has scored in double digits in two of his first three games since coming over from the Lakers. However, despite the fact coach Doc Rivers appears firmly committed to keeping him as the starting center, it seems that Zubac's minutes might be typically capped in the mid-to-high-20s on the majority of nights, with the referee's whistle always a possible looming impediment as well.

    News

Zubac managed 12 points (5-10 FG, 2-3 FT), nine rebounds, and three blocks in 23 minutes during Saturday's 123-112 win over the Celtics.

    Impact

Zubac started at center in his Clippers debut, allowing super-sub Montrezl Harrell to rejoin the second unit. The former Laker fell one board shy of a double-double while swatting at least three blocks for the third time through 34 appearances this season. It's only one game, but it seems safe to say Zubac represents a real upgrade over former starter (and recently released) Marcin Gortat.

    News

Coach Doc Rivers said that he expects Zubac to start in his Clippers debut Saturday against the Celtics, Andrew Greif of the Los Angeles Times reports.

    Impact

Montrezl Harrell entered the top unit for the fourth time all season in the Clippers' last game Thursday in Indiana, but it was never expected to be a permanent deployment, as Rivers likes the energy and scoring burst he provides off the bench. Harrell still appears set to handle the bulk of the minutes at the position, but Zubac should at least bring more upside in the starting role than the since-waived Marcin Gortat typically brought in that capacity. Even if Zubac is capped at around 20 minutes in most games, he's shown the ability to put up points, rebounds and blocks at a rate prodigious enough to make him worthy of grabbing outside of shallow leagues.

    News

Zubac (not injury related) will be available for Saturday's game against the Celtics, TV play-by-play announcer for the Los Angeles Clippers Ralph Lawler reports.

    Impact

Zubac was traded from the Lakers to the Clippers on Thursday, and he'll have an opportunity to play for his new team as soon as Saturday. Montrezl Harrell will presumably get the start, but Zubac could occupy a significant role as a reserve.

    News

Zubac was traded to the Clippers on Thursday along with Michael Beasley in exchange for Mike Muscala, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

    Impact

It's a rare trade between the two Los Angeles teams, but it won't be a huge change of scenery for Zubac as a result. It's a surprising move for the Lakers given the promise the big man has shown over this recent stretch, but Zubac should still get plenty of quality minutes with the Clippers, especially now that the team has waived Marcin Gortat. He is expected to split minutes at center with breakout star Montrezl Harrell.
