Detroit Pistons Player News: Centers

News: Drummond generated 19 points (6-11 FG, 7-7 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block across 39 minutes in the Pistons' 117-112 loss to the Trail Blazers on Saturday.
Impact: Just another signature line for Drummond, who's now double-doubled in five straight. The veteran big man continues to supplement his scoring and rebounding nicely with defensive stats, recording at least a steal and a block in three consecutive games and at least one theft in four straight overall. Drummond is now equaling or setting new career highs in points (17.4) and steals (1.6) as he continues to serve as one of the surest propositions at center in any format at a crucial time of the fantasy season.
News: Drummond totaled 21 points (9-20 FG, 3-6 FT), 21 rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block across 38 minutes in Monday's 126-119 loss to the Cavaliers.
Impact: Despite the solid 20-20 outing for Drummond, it wasn't enough to lift the Pistons to victory. His work on the offensive and defensive glass makes his double-doubles seem effortless, and he should continue to post big numbers, albeit maybe not in the most efficient fashion.
News: Updating a previous report, Maker will start Monday's game against the Cavs, Spencer Davies of Basketball Insiders reports.
Impact: A Pistons' writer initially reported that Detroit would go with Jon Leuer in place of the resting Blake Griffin, but the Pistons will go with the more sensible choice in Maker, who, unlike Leuer, has been a regular part of the rotation in recent weeks.
News: Drummond finished with 15 points (5-8 FG, 5-5 FT), 17 rebounds, two steals and an assist across 33 minutes in the Pistons' win over the Raptors on Sunday.
Impact: Drummond went off for another massive double-double, clearing 17 shots off the glass and chipping in 15 points. It's getting difficult to come up with additional superlatives to describe his rebounding prowess, but Drummond is one of the best in the game at crashing the glass and is a near-lock for a double-double every night.
News: Drummond totaled 19 points (8-15 FG, 3-6 FT), 23 rebounds and two blocks across 37 minutes in the Pistons' win over the Lakers on Friday.
Impact: Drummond bounced back from an ugly performance on Wednesday, scoring 19 points and pulling down a monstrous 23 boards. Games like this have become commonplace for Drummond in what's shaping up to be his most productive season as a pro.
News: Drummond totaled five points (1-3 FG, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds and two blocks over 24 minutes in the Pistons' loss to the Heat on Wednesday.
Impact: Drummond, much like his teammates, couldn't get anything going in Wednesday's bludgeoning by the Heat. After an amazing 19-game run that saw Drummond average 20.4 points, 16.3 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.7 blocks, he was bound to come back to earth eventually, though fantasy owners who played him couldn't have been too happy. Drummond's streak of 19 consecutive double-doubles was snapped, but he'll have the chance to start a new streak on Friday when the Pistons take on the Lakers.
News: Drummond recorded 13 points (5-14 FG, 3-4 FT), 20 rebounds, three assists and a steal in 29 minutes during Monday's loss to Brooklyn.
Impact: In what was otherwise an atrocious night, Drummond managed to provide another double-double, his 19th in a row. Drummond's only true struggle is his poor free-throw shooting ability. However, the big-man's managed to convert 69.0 percent over his past six outings, and has vastly improved over his career mark this season.
News: Pachulia (Achilles) is no longer on Detroit's injury report and will be available for Monday's game against Brooklyn.
Impact: Pachulia entered the day as a game-time call after missing the last three contests, but he'll be available as the backup center Monday evening. The former second-round pick hasn't scored in three of his previous four games, however.
News: Drummond scored 16 points (6-6 FG, 4-7 FT) while adding 15 rebounds and an assist in 30 minutes during Sunday's 131-108 rout of the Bulls.
Impact: The center now has an amazing 18 straight double-doubles and a league-leading 54 on the season, putting him on pace to top the career-high 66 he recorded in 2015-16. As per usual, Drummond has been a rock for the Pistons on the glass, and he should remain very productive down the stretch as the club tries to lock up a playoff spot.
News: Drummond totaled 20 points (9-15 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-5 FT), 24 rebounds, three steals, two assists and two blocks across 43 minutes in the Pistons' win over the Bulls on Friday.
Impact: Drummond has been virtually an unstoppable force on the boards lately, and his 24 on Friday tied a season high. His increased role on offense, huge presence in the rebounding game, and his work on defense make Drummond a must-play in most formats right now.
News: Pachulia (Achilles) participated in pregame warmups ahead of Friday's game against Chicago, Keith Langlois of the Pistons' official site reports.
Impact: Pachulia remains a game-time decision, but this is a positive development. He was held out of Detroit's last contest against Minnesota due to right Achilles inflammation.
News: Pachulia (Achilles) is questionable for Friday's game against the Bulls, Keith Langlois of the Pistons' official site reports.
Impact: Pachulia missed Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves due to right Achilles inflammation. He may be able to play Friday, but he'll presumably test things out during pregame warmups before a determination is made.
News: Drummond accounted for 31 points (11-18 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 8-10 FT), 15 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal in 38 minutes Wednesday against the Timberwolves.
Impact: Drummond decisively won his battle with Karl-Anthony Towns, finishing with a season-high 31 points, thanks in large part to an 80-percent conversion rate from the charity stripe. The veteran center now has 16 straight double-doubles and has played an integral role in the Piston's playoff push. While Drummond continues to struggle from the free-throw line, he provides elite production in virtually every other category and can be counted on as a top-25 player going forward.
News: Pachulia (Achilles) won't play in Wednesday's game against Minnesota, Rod Beard of The Detroit News reports.
Impact: As expected, Pachulia, who's dealing with inflammation in his right Achilles, will sit out Wednesday. Look for Jon Leuer or Thon Maker to see a slight increase in minutes in Pachulias absence.
News: Pachulia is considered doubtful for Wednesday's game against Minnesota due to inflammation in his right Achilles.
Impact: If Pachulia is ultimately held out, it'll open up roughly 10 minutes off the bench, which would likely be redistributed to Thon Maker or Jon Leuer.
News: Drummond totaled 15 points (5-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-8 FT), 17 rebounds, two steals, one assist, and one block in 28 minutes during Sunday's 112-107 victory over the Raptors.
Impact: Drummond was in early foul trouble but managed to navigate his way through to finish with 15 points and 17 rebounds. This could have been a monster line for Drummond had he played his normal allotment of minutes but owners still have to be thrilled with his production. He is a top-25 player for the season despite shooting just 58 percent from the free-throw line. Much like Blake Griffin, Drummond should see plenty of run over the final month.
News: Drummond scored 13 points (3-5 FG, 7-8 FT) while adding 10 rebounds, two assists and a block in 26 minutes during Saturday's 129-93 rout of the Cavaliers.
Impact: That's now 14 straight double-doubles for Drummond and an NBA-leading 50 on the season. The big man is averaging 20.9 points, 15.6 boards, 2.1 steals, 1.9 blocks and 1.1 dimes over the course of the streak, and with the Pistons in a dogfight for a playoff spot, expect him to remain locked in down the stretch.
News: Drummond totaled 10 points (5-14 FG, 0-1 3Pt), 17 rebounds, four steals, a block and an assist over 37 minutes in the Pistons' loss to the Spurs on Wednesday.
Impact: Drummond produced a huge double-double in Wednesday's loss, and he continues his excellent play around the basket. Although his scoring was lower than usual, Drummond maintained his fantasy value with a gigantic rebounding haul. In seven games prior to Wednesday, he's averaged 17.3 rebounds per game.
News: Drummond totaled 26 points (12-21 FG, 2-4 FT), 16 rebounds, three blocks, two steals and an assist across 38 minutes in the Pistons' win over the Pacers on Monday.
Impact: Drummond has been an absolutely dominating force on the glass this season, leading the NBA in rebounds with 15.1 per game. Big games such as Monday's are becoming commonplace for the big man out of UConn, and his floor is high.
News: Drummond totaled 12 points (4-6 FG, 4-4 FT), 14 rebounds, four blocks and a steal across 31 minutes in the Pistons' win over the Heat on Saturday.
Impact: It was another day at the office for the league's leading rebounder as he posted another big double-double in Saturday's win. Drummond also swatted four shots and came away with a solid night for fantasy owners. He'll continue to push for double-doubles on a nightly basis and should remain highly productive down the stretch.
News: Maker totaled nine points (3-8 FG, 3-7 3Pt), three rebounds, two steals and an assist across 18 minutes in the Pistons' win over the Hawks on Friday.
Impact: Maker had a relatively quiet night before hitting the go-ahead three with 16.7 seconds remaining, to give the Pistons the win over the Hawks on Friday. Maker remains a player to target only in the deepest of leagues as he has yet to top 19 minutes or nine points in his four games with the Pistons.
News: Drummond totaled 26 points (9-13 FG, 8-16 FT), 21 rebounds, five steals, two assists and a block over 39 minutes in the Pistons' win over the Hawks on Friday.
Impact: Drummond had a monster night in Friday's loss, filling out the stat sheet with five steals to go along with his huge point and rebound totals. He finished with his ninth game of at least 20 points and 20 rebounds this season, which comfortably leads the NBA. His tremendous work on the glass and his ability to post solid point totals makes him one of the most elite fantasy options at center.
News: Drummond registered 21 points (8-14 FG, 5-8 FT), 17 rebounds and four steals across 35 minutes Wednesday against Boston.
Impact: Drummond notched 16-plus boards for his fourth straight contests and extended his double-double streak to nine games. Expect the 6-11 Connecticut product to continue to be a force on the glass and in the scoring column on a nightly basis given his consistent success throughout this season.
News: Maker totaled five points (2-3 FG, 1-1 3Pt), four rebounds and a block across 14 minutes in the Pistons' win over the Wizards on Monday.
Impact: Maker played his second game with Detroit on Monday, failing to come away with any significant production. His two games with the Pistons have yielded averages of 2.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 0.5 blocks across 11.0 minutes, making him an irrelevant fantasy option in nearly all formats.
News: Drummond poured in a season-high 32 points (12-19 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 8-10 FT), adding 17 rebounds, four steals and a block across 36 minutes in the Pistons' win over the Wizards on Monday.
Impact: Drummond was completely dominant in Monday's win, posting his third game of at least 20 points and 17 rebounds in his last six contests. His eight made and 10 attempted free throws also tied a season-high. Drummond's career-high 17.1 points per game this season are owed in part to his improved free throw shooting, which is at 55 percent for a second straight year after averaging less than 40 percent from the line in his first five seasons.
News: Drummond tallied 29 points (12-15 FG, 5-6 FT), 20 rebounds, two blocks, three blocks and a steal across 33 minutes Friday against New York.
Impact: Unsurprisingly, Drummond turned in yet another monster performance both in the scoring column and on the boards. It's also worth noting that he knocked down 83.3 percent of his attempts from the charity stripe, where he's struggled throughout the year (54.2 percent success rate). Drummond remains one of the premier fantasy options at center in terms of points, rebounds, and blocks, and he's compiled seven straight double-doubles.
News: Maker has been officially cleared to take the court Friday against the Knicks.
Impact: Maker's absence from Friday's practice was concerning, but he wasn't on Detroit's injury report, meaning he'll be ready to debut for the Pistons. He should remain in a bench role after being traded from Milwaukee.
News: Maker (not injury related) could play Friday night against the Knicks, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports.
Impact: Maker's availability for Friday's contest didn't appear promising after he failed to participate in practice, but head coach Dwane Casey noted that Maker could make his team debut against New York. After struggling to see consistent playing time with Milwaukee, Maker is hoping for a better situation after being dealt to the Pistons.
News: Maker did not participate in practice and may not play in Friday's game against the Knicks, Rod Beard of The Detroit News reports.
Impact: The trade that sent Maker to Detroit was just finalized on Thursday, so the Pistons may not be ready to use the 21-year-old right away. If Maker does not play Friday, the Pistons have off until Monday, giving the big man a whole weekend to get some extra reps with the team before he makes his debut.
News: Maker (trade acquisition) will be available for Friday's game against the Knicks.
Impact: The 21-year-old center is expected to make his Pistons debut two days after being dealt by the Bucks for Stanley Johnson. In what amounts to a change-of-scenery trade for two young players who've yet to show their full potential, it's still unclear if Maker will be able to carve out a significant role in the rotation with Detroit.
News: Maker was traded to the Pistons on Wednesday in exchange for Stanley Johnson, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Impact: In late January, Maker was vocal about wanting to be traded out of Milwaukee, as his spot in the rotation had disappeared. He's gotten his wish, and he'll be sent to the Pistons. Maker has spent 97 percent of his career minutes at center and may compete for reserve minutes with Zaza Pachulia.
News: Drummond finished with 17 points (7-12 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 306 FT), 16 rebounds, five blocks and a steal in 36 minutes during Tuesday's win over the Knicks.
Impact: Drummond extended his double-double streak to six games Tuesday, while tying a season-high with five blocks. He continues to be one of the most consistent sources of points, rebounds, blocks, steals and double-doubles in the league and is hindered only by his poor shooting (54.3 percent) from the line this season.
News: Drummond recorded 27 points (12-14 FG, 3-3 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists and three blocks in 26 minutes Monday against Detroit.
Impact: Drummond's contributions proved to be crucial in a 129-103 victory at Little Caesars Arena, finishing the night as the team leader in scoring. The 25-year-old center has been a double-double machine of late, extending his streak to nine straight games with a double-double. Drummond has proven valuable from a fantasy standpoint in a number of categories, including scoring, rebounding, field-goal percentage and blocks to name a few.
News: Drummond totaled 12 points (5-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-4 FT), 11 rebounds, three blocks, two steals and an assist in Saturday's loss to the Clippers.
Impact: After three straight games of at least 20 points and 13 boards, Drummond came back to earth with a modest output in the scoring and rebounding departments. Still, Drummond is a double-double machine and rebounding monster, averaging a career-high 16.7 points per game and a league-leading 14.9 rebounds per game.
News: Drummond racked up 24 points (11-13 FG, 2-2 FT), 20 rebounds, a block and a steal in 37 minutes Thursday against Dallas.
Impact: Drummond converted on all but two of his shots from the field and was a monster on the boards, hauling down 20 or more rebounds for the third time this month. Despite putting up some of his lowest scoring and rebounding totals of the season in January, Drummond still managed to average a double-double through 13 matchups.
News: Drummond amassed 20 points (8-15 FG, 4-5 FT), 13 rebounds, four assists, two steals and a block across 35 minutes during Tuesday's loss to the Bucks.
Impact: Drummond posted yet another double-double, his 37th of the season. One of the most consistent forces in the NBA, Drummond provides excellent production with his scoring, rebounding and defense but has a glaring deficiency with his free-throw shooting. He's regressed in that area this year, and is shooting 52.8 percent from the charity stripe compared to 60.5 percent in 2017-18.
News: Drummond supplied 23 points (9-16 FG, 5-8 FT), 15 rebounds, and three steals in 38 minutes during Friday's 106-101 loss to the Mavericks.
Impact: Drummond cleared concussion protocol and returned to the lineup following a three-game absence. This is the 12th time that he has posted at least 20 points and 15 rebounds through 45 appearances this season. Moreover, it's the 15th time Drummond has swiped at least three steals, including six times across his last nine appearances.
News: Pachulia will come off the bench Friday against the Mavericks, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports.
Impact: With Andre Drummond (concussion) back in the lineup, Pachulia will resume his usual role on the bench. As a reserve, the veteran is averaging 4.4 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 13.6 minutes.
News: Drummond (concussion) is listed as available to play in Friday's game against the Mavericks.
Impact: Head coach Dwane Casey said Thursday that Drummond cleared concussion protocol and the big man was listed as probable for Friday's contest. As a result, Drummond will be back on the floor following a two-game absence. Expect him to be a full go now that he is free of symptoms.
News: Drummond (concussion) is probable for Friday's contest against the Mavericks, Keith Langlois of the Pistons' official site reports.
Impact: After missing two consecutive games with a concussion, Drummond cleared concussion protocol Thursday and is in-line to return to the lineup Friday, bearing any major setbacks. The UConn product will most likely be a game-time call against the Mavericks however, as it appears as though the Pistons are being extra-cautious with their star center.
News: Head coach Dwane Casey said Thursday that Drummond cleared concussion protocol, Rod Beard of The Detroit News reports.
Impact: After missing the last two games due to a concussion, Drummond is line to return for Friday's game against the Mavericks now that he's been cleared of concussion-like symptoms. Expect the Pistons to confirm Drummond's status at some point Friday.
News: Pachulia compiled eight points (3-6 FG, 2-4 FT), 10 rebounds, one assist, one steal, and one block in 31 minutes during Wednesday's 98-94 victory over the Pelicans.
Impact: Pachulia remained in the starting lineup Wednesday, with Andre Drummond (concussion) still on the sidelines. Pachulia had a productive game, however, Drummond appears as though he could return for Friday's game against Dallas which would send Pachulia back to a 12-minute role.
News: Drummond (concussion) will not play in Wednesday's game against the Pelicans, Andrew Lopez of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Impact: The Pistons wanted Drummond to go through warm-ups before making a decision on his status. He should be considered questionable for the Pistons' next game, Friday against Dallas. In his absence, Zaza Pachulia will continue to start.
News: Drummond (concussion) remains a game-time decision for Wednesday's game against the Pelicans, Pelicans studio host Daniel Sallerson reports.
Impact: Drummond as able to make it through shootaround in the morning, but the team is apparently still evaluating the center after a concussion kept him out of the last two games. With about 75 minutes until tip-off, Drummond could end up being close to a true game-time call. If he's ultimately held out, coach Dwane Casey confirmed that Zaza Pachulia would make another start in his place.
News: Drummond (concussion) went through shootaround ahead of Wednesday's game against the Pelicans, James Edwards of The Athletic reports.
Impact: The team hasn't offered official comment on Drummond's status, but it seems likely that the big man will be back to availability after missing the last two games with concussion-like symptoms. Assuming Drummond plays, expect Zaza Pachulia to step back into a reduced, backup role.
News: Drummond remains in concussion protocol and failed to practice with the team Tuesday, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports.
Impact: Drummond could rejoin the team in time for Wednesday's game against New Orleans if his upcoming evaluations go well, although he'll have to pass through concussion protocol before he can take the court. His status for Detroit's upcoming matchup doesn't look promising at this point, but that could change as tipoff nears.
News: Pachulia scored four points (2-3 FG) to go with three rebounds in 24 minutes Monday against the Wizards.
Impact: Making his second consecutive start in place of the injured Andre Drummond (concussion), Pachulia provided very little production on the offensive end, while also failing to contain Washington's Thomas Bryant, who finished with a double-double. The hope is that Drummond won't miss any more time, but if he does, expect Pachulia to continue to see expanded minutes. The veteran played 35 minutes in Saturday's game against Sacramento and finished with seven points, 12 rebounds, three steals, a block and a steal.
News: Drummond (concussion) won't play Monday against Washington.
Impact: Drummond remains in concussion protocol and won't be cleared in time for Monday's tilt. With Drummond on the shelf, expect Zaza Pachulia to draw the start at center.
News: Pachulia will start Saturday's game against the Kings.
Impact: Pachulia will enter the starting lineup in place of Andre Drummond, who's going through the concussion protocol. In 34 games this season, the veteran center's averaging 4.4 points nad 4.5 rebounds in 13.6 minutes.
News: Drummond has entered concussion protocol and will be out Saturday against the Kings.
Impact: Drummond left Friday's game after seven minutes due to a blow to the face, and he's suffered a concussion as a result. He'll miss his first game of the year Saturday. In his place, Zaza Pachulia figures to see extra run and is a strong candidate to start at center.
News: Drummond (face) has been ruled out for the rest of Friday's game against Miami, Ira Winderman of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Impact: Drummond got hit in the face in the first half, and he's since been ruled out. Zaza Pachulia and Blake Griffin will play center in Drummond's absence.
News: Drummond took a blow to the face during Friday's game against the Heat and went to the locker room, Vincent Ellis of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Impact: Drummond was bleeding after being hit in the face, so he'll get things checked out in the locker room. His return is questionable.
News: Drummond collected 14 points (7-15 FG), 22 rebounds, one assist and one block across 38 minutes in Wednesday's 120-115 win over the Magic.
Impact: Drummond dominated the boards Wednesday night against Nikola Vucevic, collecting double-digit offensive and defensive rebounds. While his scoring abilities don't match up well with the outside scoring of Vucevic, Drummond did his part scoring and ultimately got the win in overtime.
News: Pachulia (leg) will be available for Wednesday's game against Orlando, Rod Beard of the Detroit News reports.
Impact: Pachulia is yet to play since the calendar turned to 2019, but it looks like that should change Wednesday, as he'll return to availability after dealing with a bruised right leg. Prior to the injury, Pachulia had been averaging just under 14 minutes off the bench over his last six games.
News: Pachulia (lower leg) has been upgraded to questionable for Wednesday's matchup against the Magic, Keith Langlois of the Pistons' official site reports.
Impact: The reserve center has been out since New Year's Day due to a bruised right leg, but he may be able to make his return Wednesday. His return could mean fewer minutes for Jon Leuer, who has seen an uptick in playing time since Pachulia's injury.
News: Drummond scored 15 points (6-17 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-4 FT) while adding 13 rebounds, three steals and an assist in 35 minutes during Monday's 100-94 loss to the Jazz.
Impact: It isn't often that Drummond gets dominated on the glass, but Rudy Gobert convincingly won their head-to-head battle by pulling down 25 boards in addition to his 18 points. Despite the loss, the Pistons' center recorded his 35th double-double in 42 games, putting him one behind Gobert and Joel Embiid for the NBA lead in that category, and Drummond's 15.0 rebounds per game still paces the league.
News: Pachulia (lower leg) won't play Monday against the Jazz, Rod Beard of The Detroit News reports.
Impact: As expected, Pachulia will miss his eighth straight game due to a lower leg contusion. Head coach Dwane Casey did reveal that Pachulia could be ready to return later in the week, per Beard.
News: Pachulia (lower leg) is doubtful for Monday's game against the Jazz.
Impact: Pachulia is in danger of missing his eighth straight game due to a lingering lower-leg bruise. Expect an update on his availability closer to tipoff, although he's certainly not trending in the right direction.
News: Drummond finished with 20 points (8-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 4-5 FT), 21 rebounds, three steals and a block in 41 minutes Saturday against the Clippers.
Impact: Drummond recorded his sixth 20-20 of the season, eclipsing 20 points scoring for the first time since December 10th. Although he's cooled off after a hot start, Drummond remains one of the foremost fantasy centers averaging 16.7 points, a league high 14.9 rebounds, 1.8 blocks and 1.6 steals per game this season. Unfortunately, his free-throw percentage has regressed by nine-percent compared to last year, and his splits of 50.1-percent from the field and 51.2-percent from the line dampen his value a bit.
News: Pachulia (lower leg) is out for Saturday's game against the Clippers.
Impact: Pachulia's absence will extend to seven games after being listed out on Detroit's latest injury report. With Henry Ellenson also ruled out, Andre Drummond and Jon Leuer should be in store for another heavy workload.
News: Pachulia (lower leg) won't play Thursday against the Kings, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports.
Impact: Pachulia will miss his sixth consecutive contest due to a bruised right leg. With both Blake Griffin (rest) and Henry Ellenson (ankle) also on the shelf, the Pistons will be rather thin at center Thursday night, likely resulting in big minute totals for Andre Drummond and Jon Leuer.
News: Drummond mustered six points (2-12 FG, 0-3 3Pt, 2-6 FT), 17 rebounds, one assist, three steals and two blocks across 32 minutes in the Pistons' 113-100 loss to the Lakers on Wednesday.
Impact: It was a completely forgettable night on the offensive end for the big man, but one that he was able to at least partly offset with his second-best rebounding effort over the last 12 games. Drummond also continued his trend of shining on the defensive end, as he recorded multiple steals for the fifth time in as many contests to open 2019. Given that he hadn't scored in single digits since Nov. 27 prior to Wednesday, Drummond's clunker of a shooting performance is clearly an outlier he'll look to bounce back from versus the Kings on Thursday.
News: Pachulia (leg) has been ruled out of Wednesday's game against the Lakers.
Impact: Pachulia will remain inactive for a fifth straight game, so Jon Leuer should once again be in for a slight bump in playing time as the backup to Andre Drummond, who's played 38, 38 and 37 minutes, respectively, over the last three games.
News: Pachulia (lower leg) is doubtful Wednesday against the Lakers, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports.
Impact: Pachulia is expected to miss a fifth straight contest Wednesday as he continues to deal with a bruised right leg. Assuming that's the case, his next chance to play arrives Thursday against the Kings.
News: Drummond had 19 points (9-14 FG, 1-3 FT) and 14 rebounds in Monday's loss to the Spurs.
Impact: Both Drummond and Blake Griffin had big nights, but it wasn't enough as Detroit fell by a 12-point margin. Drummond also added three steals, two assists and a block.
News: Pachulia (lower leg) won't play Monday against the Spurs.
Impact: Pachulia will miss his fourth consecutive contest due to a bruised right leg. He hasn't notched a double-digit scoring performance through 32 games this year, so even when he returns to health he doesn't offer much value from a scoring standpoint in most league formats.
News: Drummond accumulated 15 points (7-10 FG, 1-4 FT), 18 rebounds, three steals, and one block in 38 minutes during Saturday's 110-105 loss to the Jazz.
Impact: Drummond was solid on both ends, scoring efficiently from the field and grabbing rebounds galore as per usual. Moreover, this is the 10th time this season that Drummond has swiped at least three steals. Despite sharing the spotlight with Blake Griffin, Drummond is also averaging a career high in points per game.
News: Pachulia (lower leg) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against Utah.
Impact: Pachulia is slated to miss his third straight matchup, although he'll continue to be evaluated on a daily basis. Jon Leuer should continue to see an uptick in playing time in Pachulia's absence.
News: Drummond scored 11 points (4-13 FG, 3-5 FT) while adding 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals and a block in 38 minutes during Wednesday's 101-94 win over the Grizzlies.
Impact: While it was far from his best performance, Drummond did record his 30th double-double of the season after seeing his previous double-double streak end at 12 games on New Year's Day. The center has piled up at least 60 DDs in two of the last three seasons, so don't be surprised if he puts together another lengthy streak.
News: Pachulia (lower leg) is listed as out for Wednesday's game against the Grizzlies.
Impact: The NBA's official injury report lists Pachulia as dealing with a right lower leg contusion, which also prevented him from taking the floor in Tuesday's 121-98 loss to the Bucks. With Pachulia unavailable, Jon Leuer should have a clear path to all of the backup minutes at center behind starter Andre Drummond.
News: Pachulia has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Bucks due to a leg injury, Rod Beard of The Detroit News reports.
Impact: Pachulia emerged from Sunday's game against the Magic with a leg injury, and it will keep him from playing against Milwaukee. In his stead, Jon Leuer could see extra run.
News: Drummond scored 14 points (7-13 FG, 0-1 3Pt) while adding 15 rebounds in 25 minutes during Sunday's 109-107 loss to the Magic.
Impact: It was the big man's 12th straight double-double and 29th of the season. Drummond didn't supply his usual defensive stats in this one -- it's the first time he hasn't recorded at least one steal or block since late October -- but his ability to dominate the glass makes him an extremely consistent fantasy asset.
News: Drummond finished with 12 points (6-11 FG, 0-1 3Pt), 12 rebounds, three blocks and a steal across 26 minutes Friday against Indiana.
Impact: Drummond has been a double-double machine of late, failing to register a double-double only two times in the month of December (14 games). Although his shooting percentage from the field has dipped this month (46.6 percent), he's still scoring with efficiency and consistently posting stellar lines for fantasy owners.
News: Drummond tallied 16 points (6-11 FG, 4-4 FT), 11 rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks across 35 minutes in Wednesday's 106-95 win over the Wizards.
Impact: Drummond kept his double-double streak alive and upped it to 10 games, validating his claim as one of the more consistent centers in the game. He has also posted seven blocks and five steals in his last two games to contribute outside of his usual two categories.
