Detroit Pistons Player News: All Positions

News: Ellington finished with three points, three assists, and two steals in 20 minutes during Sunday's 121-114 loss to Golden State.
Impact: Ellington was terrible again Sunday, ending the game with just three points in 20 minutes. After a short period of putting up standard league value, Ellington has regressed and should be considered a drop if you are still holding onto him. He is more of a three-point streamer but clearly comes with an element of risk depending on how he is shooting the ball.
News: Kennard totaled 20 points (8-12 FG, 3-4 3Pt, 1-1 FT), three rebounds, two steals, and one assist in 28 minutes during Sunday's 121-114 loss to the Warriors.
Impact: Kennard came off the bench Sunday to score 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting. He has been better over the last couple of games after falling into a slump prior to that. Kennard has been flirting with standard league relevance since the All-Star break but needs to get more consistency in his game before being considered a viable asset.
News: Griffin finished with 24 points (6-14 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 9-10 FT), eight assists, and six rebounds in 33 minutes during Sunday's 121-114 loss to the Warriors.
Impact: Griffin led the Pistons with 24 points Sunday, including an impressive 9-of-10 from the charity stripe. It wasn't enough, however, as they fell to the Warriors despite a gutsy effort. The loss drops the Pistons to seventh in the Eastern Conference standings, half a game back of the Nets. There is still just 3.5 games separating sixth through 10th meaning every game is crucial moving forward.
News: Drummond generated 19 points (6-11 FG, 7-7 FT), 11 rebounds, one assist, one steal and one block across 39 minutes in the Pistons' 117-112 loss to the Trail Blazers on Saturday.
Impact: Just another signature line for Drummond, who's now double-doubled in five straight. The veteran big man continues to supplement his scoring and rebounding nicely with defensive stats, recording at least a steal and a block in three consecutive games and at least one theft in four straight overall. Drummond is now equaling or setting new career highs in points (17.4) and steals (1.6) as he continues to serve as one of the surest propositions at center in any format at a crucial time of the fantasy season.
News: Jackson poured in 24 points (9-16 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT) and added two rebounds, one assist and one steal across 28 minutes in the Pistons' 117-112 loss to the Trail Blazers on Saturday.
Impact: Jackson checked in as the second-leading scorer on the night for the Pistons, extending what is now a four-game stretch of solid shooting. The veteran has drained 45.5 percent or better of his attempts in each contest during that span, and he's gone 7-for-15 from distance in his last pair of contests. Jackson has scored at least 20 points in three of the last five as well, upping his overall value in a crucial portion of the fantasy season.
News: Griffin supplied 27 points (10-18 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 4-4 FT), six assists, three rebounds and one steal across 35 minutes in the Pistons' 117-112 loss to the Trail Blazers on Saturday.
Impact: Griffin paced the Pistons in scoring on the night with his best shooting effort since March 10. The All-Star forward had found the net on just four of 17 occasions versus the Suns in his most recent game on Thursday, so Saturday's resurgence was an especially welcome sight. Griffin has endured an up-and-down month offensively thus far, with Saturday's tally just his fourth of more than 20 points in his last eight games. However, his work in both rebounds and assists remains relatively steady albeit somewhat depressed, as evidenced by the respective 5.7 and 5.4 figures he sported in those categories coming into the game against Portland.
News: Smith totaled 11 points (5-9 FG, 1-2 FT), five rebounds, four assists, and one steal in 24 minutes during Thursday's 118-98 victory over Phoenix.
Impact: Smith continues to split minutes with Reggie Jackson, both seeing 24 minutes in Thursday's comfortable victory. The timeshare is certainly frustrating for Jackson's owners but puts Smith on the radar in standard leagues. Smith is capable of helping in points, assists, and steals and with a back-to-back coming this weekend, is worth considering.
News: Griffin had 17 points (4-17 FG, 2-11 3Pt, 7-10 FT), eight assists, seven rebounds, one steal, and one block in 31 minutes during Thursday's 118-98 victory over the Suns.
Impact: Griffin returned after missing the Pistons last game due to rest. He was able to contribute across the board but finished 4-of-17 from the field including 2-of-11 from beyond the arc. Griffin's infatuation with the three-point shot has certainly impacted his efficiency, however, owners cannot really complain after what has been an impressive overall season. The Piston may think twice about resting Griffin again given their previous effort against the Cavaliers and he will hopefully be locked in for big minutes, starting with this weekend's back-to-back set.
News: Ellington finished with 23 points (7-11 FG, 6-10 3Pt, 3-5 FT), one rebound, one steal, and one block in 31 minutes during Thursday's 118-98 victory over the Suns.
Impact: Ellington stayed hot in Thursday's win, finishing the game with 23 points including six triples. Over his last five games, he is averaging over four three-pointers per contest. He has also contributed a combined six steals in that time and is certainly on the radar in competitive leagues.
News: Smith registered 13 points (5-12 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five assists, three rebounds and one steal across 24 minutes in Monday's 126-119 loss to the Cavaliers.
Impact: After six-straight games of failing to post double-digit points, Smith finally broke out Monday night due to increased volume. He will continue to get minutes as a facilitator for the reserves, and could be a more reliable option if he starts scoring on some more of the offensive possessions.
News: Galloway finished with 13 points (4-10 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT) across 26 minutes in Monday's 126-119 loss to the Cavaliers.
Impact: Galloway failed to record another stat besides points in his minutes off the bench Monday. He has registered double-digit points in each of his last three games, averaging 29 minutes per game in that span.
News: Ellington produced 25 points (8-15 FG, 7-13 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two assists, two steals and one rebound across 32 minutes in Monday's 126-119 loss to the Cavaliers.
Impact: Ellington stepped up in a big way Monday for the Pistons, going for a season-high point total due to his season-high seven threes. He'll remain in the starting lineup for the foreseeable future, but shouldn't do much in his role as a sharpshooter.
News: Drummond totaled 21 points (9-20 FG, 3-6 FT), 21 rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block across 38 minutes in Monday's 126-119 loss to the Cavaliers.
Impact: Despite the solid 20-20 outing for Drummond, it wasn't enough to lift the Pistons to victory. His work on the offensive and defensive glass makes his double-doubles seem effortless, and he should continue to post big numbers, albeit maybe not in the most efficient fashion.
News: Updating a previous report, Maker will start Monday's game against the Cavs, Spencer Davies of Basketball Insiders reports.
Impact: A Pistons' writer initially reported that Detroit would go with Jon Leuer in place of the resting Blake Griffin, but the Pistons will go with the more sensible choice in Maker, who, unlike Leuer, has been a regular part of the rotation in recent weeks.
News: Leuer will start Monday's game against the Cavaliers in place of Blake Griffin (rest), Keith Langlois of Pistons.com reports.
Impact: Leuer hasn't played a second in any of the last three games, and he wasn't even active for a matchup with the Lakers on Friday, but he'll move into the lineup alongside Andre Drummond up front. The Wisconsin product has appeared in only five games since the start of February.
News: Griffin will miss Monday's outing against the Cavaliers due to rest, Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reports.
Impact: Being a second game of a back-to-back for the Pistons, the team has elected to rest their star against the second-worse team in the Eastern Conference on Monday. It's currently unknown who will start in Griffin's place Monday but teammates Thon Maker and Jon Leuer are likely candidates to either start and get increased minutes. Griffin should be good to go for the Pistons' next contest at Phoenix on Thursday.
News: Galloway totaled 11 points (4-7 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and an assist across 28 minutes in the Pistons' win over the Raptors on Sunday.
Impact: Galloway had an efficient night shooting, though he had only mild results in the box score in his 28 minutes on Sunday. One game removed from a 23-point outburst, Galloway returned his usual value.
News: Jackson finished with 20 points (5-10 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 8-9 FT), four assists, two rebounds and a steal across 24 minutes in the Pistons' win over the Raptors on Sunday.
Impact: Jackson had a big game in Sunday's win, trailing only Blake Griffin (25 points) for the team lead in scoring. That's back-to-back 20-point outings for Jackson, though fantasy owners need to be cognizant of his inconsistencies in the scoring department throughout the season.
News: Griffin produced 25 points (9-21 FG, 4-8 3Pt, 3-5 FT), eight rebounds and three assists across 33 minutes in the Pistons' win over the Raptors on Sunday.
Impact: Griffin at least partially snapped his cold shooting streak in Sunday's win, draining half of his eight three-pointers and nine of his 21 shots from the floor overall. After going 8-31 in his last three games, Sunday's shooting was encouraging, though Griffin could still improve in that department moving forward.
News: Drummond finished with 15 points (5-8 FG, 5-5 FT), 17 rebounds, two steals and an assist across 33 minutes in the Pistons' win over the Raptors on Sunday.
Impact: Drummond went off for another massive double-double, clearing 17 shots off the glass and chipping in 15 points. It's getting difficult to come up with additional superlatives to describe his rebounding prowess, but Drummond is one of the best in the game at crashing the glass and is a near-lock for a double-double every night.
News: Jackson (ankle) will start in Sunday's game against the Raptors, Rod Beard of The Detroit News reports.
Impact: Jackson was dealing with ankle soreness, however he is feeling well enough to start. He came into Sunday as probable, so it seems he should be able to play his usual role.
News: Jackson is considered probable for Sunday's game against the Raptors due to right ankle soreness, Rod Beard of The Detroit News reports.
Impact: Jackson's appearance on the injury report is likely for precautionary reasons. His issue isn't thought to be serious but there's a chance it could limit him slightly against Toronto. If he ends up being held out or seeing fewer minutes look for Ish Smith or Jose Calderon to see some extra action.
News: Jackson finished with 20 points (6-19 FG, 4-10 3Pt, 4-5 FT), five rebounds, five assists, one steal and one block across 29 minutes in the Pistons' win over the Lakers on Friday.
Impact: After two duds in the box score, Jackson produced a big night across the stat sheet, highlighted by his 20 points and four three-pointers. The ebbs and flows of Jackson's production from night to night are a natural part of his game and one that fantasy owners will need to keep in mind when putting him in lineups.
News: Griffin finished with 15 points (3-12 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 7-12 FT), nine assists and two rebounds across 34 minutes in the Pistons' win over the Lakers on Friday.
Impact: Griffin just missed a double-double in Friday's win, missing out on the feat by one assist. Although it's an improvement on Wednesday's showing, Griffin has hit a bit of a slump recently, shooting 8-31 from the floor in his last three games.
News: Galloway totaled 23 points (8-10 FG, 4-6 3Pt, 3-3 FT), three rebounds and two assists across 33 minutes in the Pistons' win over the Lakers on Friday.
Impact: Galloway put up his second-highest point total of the season in Friday's win, draining four three balls in the process. He's been an important role player for the Pistons this season averaging 21.1 minutes per game, but scoring nights like this are few and far between for Galloway, rendering him a deep league player.
News: Drummond totaled 19 points (8-15 FG, 3-6 FT), 23 rebounds and two blocks across 37 minutes in the Pistons' win over the Lakers on Friday.
Impact: Drummond bounced back from an ugly performance on Wednesday, scoring 19 points and pulling down a monstrous 23 boards. Games like this have become commonplace for Drummond in what's shaping up to be his most productive season as a pro.
News: Brown (ankle) will start Friday against the Lakers, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports.
Impact: Brown was listed as probable, so it's not shocking that he was named in the starting lineup. He's been somewhat lacking in the scoring column of late, averaging a mere 3.0 points over his last five matchups.
News: Leuer is inactive for Friday's game against the Lakers, Rod Beard of The Detroit News reports.
Impact: Leuer has played in just two of Detroit's previous nine games, so it's unsurprising that he's listed as inactive.
News: Jackson (ankle) will play in Friday's game against the Lakers, Rod Beard of The Detroit News reports.
Impact: Jackson was nursing a right ankle injury that he suffered in Wednesday's loss to the Heat, but he doesn't appear to be hampered by it a couple days later. Expect the point guard to be a full go Friday.
News: Jackson (ankle) is questionable Friday against the Lakers, Keith Langlois of the Pistons' official site reports.
Impact: Jackson turned his right ankle during Wednesday's loss to the Heat, putting his status for Friday into question. If he ends up sidelined, Ish Smith would presumably draw the start at point guard.
News: Brown is probable for Friday's game against the Lakers due to an ankle injury.
Impact: Brown has started each of the last two contests for the Pistons, so this designation is likely precautionary. Expect the former second-round pick to play and draw another start Friday evening.
News: Jackson turned his right ankle late in Wednesday's loss to the Heat, Keith Langlois of Pistons.com reports.
Impact: Jackson limped to the sideline and collapsed near the Pistons' bench after appearing to step on Zaza Pachulia's foot, and while he said after the game that he's now concerned about the ankle, the point guard should still be considered questionable for Friday's matchup with the Lakers.
News: Kennard totaled 10 points (4-9 FG, 2-6 3Pt), four assists and three rebounds over 29 minutes in the Pistons' loss to the Heat on Wednesday.
Impact: Kennard didn't do much in Wednesday's loss, producing his third consecutive poor performance. Although he's played nearly 30 minutes per game off the bench, his production is erratic from night-to-night. Over his last three games, he's averaged 7.0 points, 4.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists. Kennard can't be counted on for consistency.
News: Ellington finished with 11 points (3-7 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two steals, one assist and one rebound over 25 minutes in the Pistons' loss to the Heat on Wednesday.
Impact: Although the Pistons were blown out for the second straight night, it wasn't the game-flow that limited Ellington -- he just hasn't been very productive in Detroit. In 10 games prior to Wednesday in the starting lineup, Ellington has averaged 9.8 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 24.6 minutes. He's not an appealing fantasy option outside of deep leagues.
News: Drummond totaled five points (1-3 FG, 3-4 FT), nine rebounds and two blocks over 24 minutes in the Pistons' loss to the Heat on Wednesday.
Impact: Drummond, much like his teammates, couldn't get anything going in Wednesday's bludgeoning by the Heat. After an amazing 19-game run that saw Drummond average 20.4 points, 16.3 rebounds, 1.9 steals and 1.7 blocks, he was bound to come back to earth eventually, though fantasy owners who played him couldn't have been too happy. Drummond's streak of 19 consecutive double-doubles was snapped, but he'll have the chance to start a new streak on Friday when the Pistons take on the Lakers.
News: Griffin totaled 13 points (4-9 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 3-4 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block over 30 minutes in the Pistons' loss to the Heat on Wednesday.
Impact: Griffin had another mediocre game on Wednesday, following up Monday's poor performance with another one. Griffin hasn't been very good over his last two games, but he has a perfect chance to right the ship on Friday in a matchup against the Lakers' soft defense.
News: Griffin finished with 10 points (1-10 FG, 1-5 3Pt, 7-8 FT0, seven rebounds, six assists and a steal across 25 minutes Monday against the Nets.
Impact: Griffin, like the rest of the Pistons, was unable to get anything going Monday. Furthermore, the veteran forward saw diminished run due to the game being out of hand by halftime, playing just 25 minutes, his fewest since February 4th. Given his excellent track record, owners should be confident in Griffin's ability to bounce back Wednesday against the Heat.
News: Drummond recorded 13 points (5-14 FG, 3-4 FT), 20 rebounds, three assists and a steal in 29 minutes during Monday's loss to Brooklyn.
Impact: In what was otherwise an atrocious night, Drummond managed to provide another double-double, his 19th in a row. Drummond's only true struggle is his poor free-throw shooting ability. However, the big-man's managed to convert 69.0 percent over his past six outings, and has vastly improved over his career mark this season.
News: Brown (ankle) is in the starting lineup for Monday's game against Brooklyn, Rod Beard of The Detroit News reports.
Impact: As previously reported, Brown will indeed return to the starting lineup following a one-game absence. His scoring presence has been limited at best, as he's averaging just 3.3 points over his previous seven games despite averaging 21.1 minutes during that stretch.
News: Brown (ankle) will likely start Monday's game against Brooklyn, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports.
Impact: Brown remains listed as questionable on the team's injury report, but after he went through Monday morning's walkthrough, coach Dwane Casey believes he'll be ready to play, per Rod Beard of The Detroit News. While Brown hasn't been officially cleared to play, this is a promising sign.
News: Pachulia (Achilles) is no longer on Detroit's injury report and will be available for Monday's game against Brooklyn.
Impact: Pachulia entered the day as a game-time call after missing the last three contests, but he'll be available as the backup center Monday evening. The former second-round pick hasn't scored in three of his previous four games, however.
News: Brown (ankle) is listed as questionable for Monday's game against the Nets.
Impact: A sprained ankle kept Brown out of Sunday's game against Chicago, and the team is yet to rule on his status for the second night of the back-to-back. If Brown is held out, expect Glenn Robinson to make another start on the wing in his place.
News: Galloway scored 21 points (7-10 FG, 6-6 3Pt, 1-1 FT) while adding two rebounds and two assists in 29 minutes off the bench during Sunday's 131-108 win over the Bulls.
Impact: The 27-year-old has drained all 12 of his three-point attempts over the last three games, leaving Galloway one trey shy of the franchise record for consecutive threes held by Terry Mills. Galloway's scored in double digits in six of the last eight games, but his fantasy contributions still remain limited to his long-range shooting.
News: Jackson scored 21 points (7-14 FG, 5-8 3Pt, 2-2 FT) while adding six assists and a steal in 25 minutes during Sunday's 131-108 win over the Bulls.
Impact: The guard dropped exactly 21 points in both halves of the home-and-home set against Chicago, although he was more effective from beyond the arc in this one. Jackson's having a career-best season as a three-point shooter, both in terms of efficiency and volume, and with Blake Griffin and Andre Drummond forcing defenses to collapse into the paint, the 29-year-old should continue to see plenty of open looks from the outside.
News: Drummond scored 16 points (6-6 FG, 4-7 FT) while adding 15 rebounds and an assist in 30 minutes during Sunday's 131-108 rout of the Bulls.
Impact: The center now has an amazing 18 straight double-doubles and a league-leading 54 on the season, putting him on pace to top the career-high 66 he recorded in 2015-16. As per usual, Drummond has been a rock for the Pistons on the glass, and he should remain very productive down the stretch as the club tries to lock up a playoff spot.
News: Griffin scored a game-high 28 points (10-14 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 5-6 FT) while adding six rebounds, five assists and a steal in 27 minutes during Sunday's 131-108 rout of the Bulls.
Impact: Chicago's defense offered little resistance in the afternoon contest, allowing Griffin to drop 20-plus points for the fifth time in the last eight games. The Pistons are currently clinging to the sixth seed in the Eastern Conference, thanks in large to the career-best scoring numbers Griffin has been putting up, so don't expect him to slow down over the final weeks of the season.
News: Robinson will start Sunday's game against Chicago, James Edwards of The Athletic reports.
Impact: With Bruce Brown out, Robinson will slide into the lineup at small forward, though it may be Luke Kennard who ultimately benefits most from Brown's absence.
News: Jackson (thumb) will play Sunday against the Bulls, James Edwards of The Athletic reports.
Impact: Jackson was initially deemed questionable with a thumb injury, but it looks to be nothing of concern, as he's in the starting lineup at his usual point guard spot.
News: Brown will not play Sunday against the Bulls due to an ankle injury, Rod Beard of the Detroit News reports.
Impact: The diagnosis behind Brown's status is unclear, but the Pistons are listing him as one of their inactives Sunday. That means they'll need to find a new starter at small forward, and Luke Kennard, who's played well lately, would appear to be the top candidate.
News: Jackson is considered questionable for Sunday's game against the Bulls due to a sprained right thumb, Keith Langlois of Pistons.com reports.
Impact: Jackson apparently suffered the injury Friday against the Bulls, and the Pistons will wait until closer to game-time to make a final call. The point guard saw 23 minutes of action Friday, finishing with 21 points and two assists. He was not initially on the floor for pregame warmups, per James Edwards of The Athletic.
News: Kennard totaled 14 points (5-8 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three assists and two rebounds across 28 minutes in the Pistons' win over the Bulls on Friday.
Impact: Kennard has become a reliable scorer off the bench for the Pistons over the last month. He's been especially productive as of late, averaging 20.0 points per game in his last four contests.
News: Jackson totaled 21 points (10-18 FG, 1-5 3Pt), two assists, one rebound and a steal across 23 minutes in the Pistons' win over the Bulls on Friday.
Impact: Jackson has turned up his production on offense recently, but his other statistics have suffered in the process. In his last five games, Jackson has averaged 17.0 points, 3.2 assists and 1.8 rebounds.
News: Griffin accumulated 27 points (10-19 FG, 3-9 3Pt, 4-5 FT), three rebounds, three assists and a block across 33 minutes in the Pistons' win over the Bulls on Friday.
Impact: Griffin led the team in scoring, but his rebound and assist contributions were light in Friday's loss. He bounced back nicely from a nine-point performance in Wednesday's win over the Timberwolves.
News: Drummond totaled 20 points (9-15 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 2-5 FT), 24 rebounds, three steals, two assists and two blocks across 43 minutes in the Pistons' win over the Bulls on Friday.
Impact: Drummond has been virtually an unstoppable force on the boards lately, and his 24 on Friday tied a season high. His increased role on offense, huge presence in the rebounding game, and his work on defense make Drummond a must-play in most formats right now.
News: Pachulia (Achilles) participated in pregame warmups ahead of Friday's game against Chicago, Keith Langlois of the Pistons' official site reports.
Impact: Pachulia remains a game-time decision, but this is a positive development. He was held out of Detroit's last contest against Minnesota due to right Achilles inflammation.
News: Leuer (knee) appears to have returned to health after he was left off the injury report prior to Friday's game against Chicago.
Impact: Leuer hasn't taken the court since Feb. 23, but he's no longer on the injury report, which is a good sign. Given his role in the rotation, he may not see much playing time even after getting the green light.
News: Pachulia (Achilles) is questionable for Friday's game against the Bulls, Keith Langlois of the Pistons' official site reports.
Impact: Pachulia missed Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves due to right Achilles inflammation. He may be able to play Friday, but he'll presumably test things out during pregame warmups before a determination is made.
News: Kennard is probable for Friday's game against the Bulls due to right foot soreness, Keith Langlois of the Pistons' official site reports.
Impact: Kennard has emerged from Wednesday's win over the Timberwolves with right foot soreness, but the situation is not expected to keep the shooting guard out of action. He's averaging 22.0 points across the past three games.
News: Mykhailiuk was assigned to the G League's Grand Rapids Drive on Friday, James L. Edwards III of The Athletic reports.
Impact: Mykhailiuk has been a healthy inactive for each of the last two games for Detroit, so while the team makes a trip to Chicago on Friday, the rookie out of Kansas will have the opportunity for extended playing time with the Drive against the Erie BayHawks.
News: Galloway posted 11 points (3-4 FG, 3-3 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds and a block during Wednesday's win over the Timberwolves.
Impact: Galloway topped double-digits for the fourth time in his past six games. He's shot well of late, making a ridiculous 80 percent of his shots from the field over that span. That said, despite playing a valuable reserve role, Galloway doesn't provide enough to be considered a viable fantasy option outside of the deepest formats.
News: Griffin was held to nine points (4-13 FG, 0-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), seven assists, six rebounds and two steals in 29 minutes during Wednesday's win over Minnesota.
Impact: Griffin was held to his third-lowest point total of the season Wednesday, in what was a forgettable individual performance against the Timberwolves. Owners don't have too much reason for concern however, as Griffin's been a top-tier fantasy performer all-season and despite his woeful scoring production Wednesday still managed to post a solid complementary stat line.
News: Kennard recorded 21 points (8-16 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and three assists across 29 minutes Wednesday against Minnesota.
Impact: Kennard has now scored at least 17 points in five of his past six games. While the second-year guard continues to do little else besides score, he's been extremely efficient from the field recently. Across the past six games, the Duke product's averaging 18.3 points and is shooting 55.4 percent from the field during that span.
News: Smith posted 19 points (8-10 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five rebounds, five assists and a steal in 26 minutes Wednesday against the Timberwolves.
Impact: Smith was electric Wednesday, shooting 80 percent form the field and recording a plus-28 net rating. He played nearly seven more minutes than starter Reggie Jackson and outscored jackson by 13 points. That said, Smith's big performance was likely the result of the Pistons being up big early and facing a soft Minnesota defense. While he's capable of a solid line, he's too inconsistent to be viable in standard leagues at this point.
News: Drummond accounted for 31 points (11-18 FG, 1-1 3Pt, 8-10 FT), 15 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal in 38 minutes Wednesday against the Timberwolves.
Impact: Drummond decisively won his battle with Karl-Anthony Towns, finishing with a season-high 31 points, thanks in large part to an 80-percent conversion rate from the charity stripe. The veteran center now has 16 straight double-doubles and has played an integral role in the Piston's playoff push. While Drummond continues to struggle from the free-throw line, he provides elite production in virtually every other category and can be counted on as a top-25 player going forward.
News: Mykhailiuk won't be active for Wednesday's game against Minnesota, Rod Beard of The Detroit News reports.
Impact: Mykhailiuk won't be active for the second-straight game after playing five minutes Saturday against Cleveland. He was held out of the rotation for much of February and doesn't figure to see many minutes going forward unless some injuries occur.
News: Pachulia (Achilles) won't play in Wednesday's game against Minnesota, Rod Beard of The Detroit News reports.
Impact: As expected, Pachulia, who's dealing with inflammation in his right Achilles, will sit out Wednesday. Look for Jon Leuer or Thon Maker to see a slight increase in minutes in Pachulias absence.
News: Leuer is listed as questionable for Wednesday's game against the Timberwolves due to a right knee injury.
Impact: Leuer is dealing with some fluid build-up in his knee, and the Pistons will wait until closer to game-time to see if the situation improves. Either way, Leuer hasn't been a regular part of the rotation, and he can be ignored for fantasy purposes.
News: Pachulia is considered doubtful for Wednesday's game against Minnesota due to inflammation in his right Achilles.
Impact: If Pachulia is ultimately held out, it'll open up roughly 10 minutes off the bench, which would likely be redistributed to Thon Maker or Jon Leuer.
News: Kennard tallied 19 points (6-10 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 2-2 FT), five assists, and two rebounds in 35 minutes during Sunday's 112-107 victory over Toronto.
Impact: Kennard has now played at least 30 minutes in four of his past seven games, a number that will hopefully begin to increase after another strong performance. He finished with 19 points including five triples, making it 11 three-pointers over his last two games. He continues to come off the bench but has been one of the Pistons better players over the past month. He is available in a lot of leagues and could be worth picking up in the hope he can maintain this kind of production moving forward.
News: Drummond totaled 15 points (5-10 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 5-8 FT), 17 rebounds, two steals, one assist, and one block in 28 minutes during Sunday's 112-107 victory over the Raptors.
Impact: Drummond was in early foul trouble but managed to navigate his way through to finish with 15 points and 17 rebounds. This could have been a monster line for Drummond had he played his normal allotment of minutes but owners still have to be thrilled with his production. Although his solid effort wasn't enough to get his team the victory Wednesday night, his 19.6 ppg and 6.0 apg over six contests in February are noticeably above his season averages. Jackson's impressive 50.7 percent success rate from the field and his 56.7 percent shooting clip from deep in his preceding six games are also worth noting.

Impact: Kennard had a strong performance in the Pistons' last game, connecting on four out of six three pointers.
