Cavaliers reveal positive Max Strus update, eye potential return date | Sporting News Cleveland can add another shooter into their rotation.
MARCH 14 SPORTINGNEWS.COM
Jaylon Tyson - Questionable vs. Dallas Tyson is questionable for Sunday's game against the Mavericks due to left ankle soreness.
Impact Tyson hasn't missed a game since Nov. 19, but now he's in danger of not playing Sunday due to an ankle problem. His absence shouldn't have a big impact in most fantasy formats, though. He's averaging just 10.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game in 12 appearances (four starts) since the All-Star break.
MARCH 14 ROTOWIRE
Sam Merrill - Not playing Sunday Merrill (hamstring) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Mavericks.
Impact Merrill is slated to miss a second consecutive game while recovering from a left hamstring injury, and his next chance to play is Tuesday against the Bucks. Merrill's absence means more minutes will be available for Keon Ellis and Jaylon Tyson, though some of that playing time will be absorbed by Max Strus (foot), who is trending toward making his 2025-26 regular-season debut Sunday.
MARCH 14 ROTOWIRE
Craig Porter Jr. - Won't play Sunday Porter has been ruled out for Sunday's game against Dallas due to a left groin strain.
Impact The groin injury is a new concern for Porter, who is set to miss his first game due to injury since Jan. 30. With the 26-year-old guard out, Keon Ellis and Dennis Schroder are candidates for a slight bump in minutes.
MARCH 14 ROTOWIRE
Tyrese Proctor - Not playing Sunday Proctor (quadriceps) is out for Sunday's game against the Mavericks.
Impact Proctor will be sidelined for a fifth straight game and doesn't have a clear date to return to action. The floor general hasn't played regularly for the Cavaliers, however, so his absence won't have much of an impact on the rotation.
MARCH 14 ROTOWIRE
Jarrett Allen - Out vs. Dallas Allen (knee) is out for Sunday's game against the Mavericks.
Impact Allen will miss a fifth straight game Sunday, and the fact that he's once again being ruled out a full day before the game isn't encouraging, as there's no clear timetable for his return. Thomas Bryant should continue to see an expanded role in the frontcourt in Allen's absence.
MARCH 14 ROTOWIRE
Max Strus - Trending toward debut Sunday Strus (foot) is listed as probable for Sunday's game against the Mavericks.
Impact Given the probable tag, it looks like Strus will make his 2025-26 regular-season debut Sunday. The seventh-year pro underwent surgery in late August to repair a Jones fracture in his left foot, but he has ramped up his activities and has been practicing with the G League's Cleveland Charge as of late. Strus started in 37 of 50 regular-season games for the Cavaliers last season and averaged 9.4 points, 4.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists over 25.5 minutes per game. He's likely to operate under a heavy minutes restriction off the bench when he returns.
