VIDEO: Ty Dillon steps in for brother Austin in Sprint Cup practice
Austin Dillon has had an excellent rookie season in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, where he is ninth in points heading into Sunday’s Duck Commander 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.
But Dillon isn’t feeling well this weekend, so shortly before the halfway point of today’s final 90-minute Happy Hour practice session, he hopped out of his No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet SS.
In his place went younger brother, Ty, who took over and tried to sort out some handling issues with the car, which was just 37th-fastest in practice when he took over.
