Citing lingering soreness stemming from a vicious hit in the early laps of Sunday’s Sprint Cup Series race at Auto Club Speedway, Kyle Larson has opted not to participate in a previously scheduled dirt-track race at Placerville Speedway in his home state of California.

The Chip Ganassi Racing driver, who is well known for his proclivity for competing in extracurricular racing events, used Twitter to break the news of his change of plans.
