NASCAR Camping World Truck Series regular John Wes Townley will miss Friday night’s Longhorn 350 at Texas Motor Speedway due to what his team is calling a “non-racing-related injury to his left ankle.”

Filling in for Townley behind the wheel of the No. 05 Zaxby’s Chevrolet will be Cody Coughlin, who has nine Truck Series starts this  year, including a season’s-best 12th-place finish at Texas in June.

“I want to wish John Wes a speedy recovery and hope he’s back at the track soon,” said Coughlin. “I’m honored that Athenian Motorsports thought of me to drive their truck this weekend."

Townley is 15th in Truck Series points right now, with two top-10 finishes, including a best of seventh place at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
