Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, Jimmie Johnson and Joey Logano will enter the race tied in points with 5,000 each. Whoever has the best finish of the four will be crowned the 2016 Sprint Cup champ. And the were all fast in practice at Homestead.

Early in the 85-minute session, Johnson ran a single qualifying lap and put the No. 48 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet temporarily on top of the board with a lap of  174.944 miles per hour around the 1.5-mile track.
