When Chicago Cubs pitcher Carl Edwards Jr. was called upon to pitch the 10th inning in Game 7 of the World Series against the Cleveland Indians, the NASCAR community had some fun with it.

Of course, the running joke was Joe Gibbs Racing driver Carl Edwards was headed to the mound at Progressive Field.

After the Cubs snapped a 108-year streak to win their first World Series title since 1908, Edwards Jr. “flew the W” to celebrate.

But, how cool would it have been to see Edwards Jr. do a backflip on the mound?

We’ll see if the JGR driver can continue the Edwards’ winning ways at Texas Motor Speedway.
