Martin Truex Jr., Furniture Row team reflect on Kobalt 400 win in Vegas
One of the first words to come up when thinking about Martin Truex Jr.'s career in recent years: luck.
As in he hasn't had much of it. Even with four wins in 2016, he still had plenty of great runs go sour late.
The chips finally fell in his favor in the Kobalt 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Not once, but three times.
Near the end of the first stage, Kevin Harvick blew a tire and Truex got by Jamie McMurray on the restart to win the stage. A similar result played out in Stage 2 as Truex passed Jimmie Johnson on a late stage restart.
After Brad Keselowski took the lead with 24 laps to go, a mechanical issue opened the door for Truex to sweep the race and grab his first win of 2017.
Millions of people go to Vegas and try to turn their luck around, it appears to have worked for Truex and the No. 78 Furniture Row Racing team.
Watch the Kobalt 400 winner reflect on his victory, along with his crew chief Cole Pearn, on 'NASCAR Race Hub'.
