NASCAR grants Furniture Row Racing a deferral on Martin Truex Jr. crew chief suspension
Furniture Row Racing’s appeal of NASCAR’s one-race suspension of Martin Truex Jr.’s crew chief, Cole Pearn, has been granted by the sanctioning body.
A NASCAR spokesman confirmed to FOXSports.com Thursday morning that NASCAR has agreed to hear the team’s appeal and that Pearn’s suspension has been deferred until the appeal can be heard.
A hearing date for the appeal has not been decided, the NASCAR spokesman said.
NASCAR announced late Wednesday that Pearn had been fined $50,000 and suspended one race, and the driver and team docked 15 driver and owner points, respectively, after Sprint Cup Series officials discovered an issue with the No. 78 Toyota’s roof flaps last weekend at Atlanta Motor Speedway.
