There has been much debate NASCAR's competition enhancements regarding a new points format and the basic way races will be run.

Drivers uniformly defended the collaborative decision to make the bold, sweeping modifications during the two-day NASCAR preseason media tour that concluded on Wednesday in Charlotte, North Carolina.

For those race fans who perhaps have been sleeping in a cave for the last several days, one of the aspects of the new race format is that events in all three NASCAR national touring series will be divided into three segments: Stage 1, Stage 2 and the race-ending stage that will determine the event winner.

The new format seems to be going over particularly well with Cole Pearn, crew chief for Martin Truex Jr. and the No. 78 Furniture Row Racing team. He took to Twitter to tell the world why.
