Kubica was replaced by German driver Nick Heidfeld on the Renault team after suffering multiple injuries during a rally crash in February. He had seven hours of surgery to save his right hand before operations on his shoulder, leg and elbow.
Kubica says in a team statement that, ”I am starting to feel a lot better now,” and that ”I hope to be able to leave within the next 10 days.”
Heidfeld dedicated his third-place finish at this month’s Malaysian Grand Prix to Kubica, who says he has been ”literally submerged” by letters of support.
